Dab pages

In disambiguation pages, there should be only one blue link, thus I've reverted your edits to Unbreakable. See MOS:DAB for more details. +mt 18:38, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Age of Mythology

edit

I can't quite tell how knowledgeable you are of Wikipedia's regulations, but I'll assume you know of WP:OR and what qualifies as sourced information as opposed to original research. The way you phrase your point about the Wadjet makes it seem you're assuming this information is linked to the context of the article, which is only verifiable with a source, such as a direct one from the game (e.g. text cited from the encyclopedia). Indeed, what you say about inspirations is correct, but most of the content in your edits adds information that is more suited to the article of the creature or object itself (e.g. Trireme) rather than here; you should be citing sources relevant to the game and its units, not just the object the unit is based on. One example is "owing to the Hindu deity Jagannātha (meaning Lord of the Universe), a form of Krishna"; this should be sourced with a reference to the in-game encyclopedia to establish notability relevant to the article subject, instead of a dictionary definition, which may not be the developers' inspiration. Abraliopsis

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Abraliopsis, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ipedia.net/information/Enoploteuthidae. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page.   The Featured Sound Main Page Proposal Voter Barnstar
I was truly humbled by the overwhelming community support for the recent proposal to place featured sounds on the main page. The proposal closed on Tuesday with 57 people in support and only 2 in opposition.

It should take a few weeks for everything to get coded and tested, and once that is done the community will be presented with a mock up to assess on aesthetic appeal.

Finally, I invite all of you to participate in the featured sounds process itself. Whether you're a performer, an uploader, or just come across a sound file you find top quality, and that meets the featured sound criteria, you can nominate it at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates. Featured sounds is also looking for people to help assess candidates (also at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates.)

Thanks again for such a strong showing of support, and I hope to see you at featured sounds in the future.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:26, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
