Deleted Article Retrieval

You deleted my article: 23:13, 31 May 2024 Nyttend talk contribs deleted page Draft:Anne H. Or if you could possibly put it back into draft space so that I can edit it? Please let me know, thanks.

Pennsylvania municipality pix list
editI see you haven't updated your User:Nyttend/Pennsylvania list in a while. Late in the summer, I went through pretty much the whole list of 2500+ municipalities checking off if there was a Commons category, any photos, and a locator map. By checking against geo-located photos on Open Street Map and other photos since added, I basically have the updated list of municipalities like you had, good news we're down to about 157 municipalities without good or any images for their infobox. Because your list is so comprehensive and well put-together, is it alright with you if I go ahead and update your page/images? —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 22:35, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Communities of Perry County, Tennessee template edits
editGood afternoon! I see that you reverted an edit to this template to a version including a number of red links to pages that had been draftified until notability can be established. I am unsure of what you mean by your edit summary of "Redirecting communities to the county is grossly inappropriate," as it appears as though all you did was restore a number of red links. Could you please further explain what you were trying to do? Thanks! nf utvol (talk) 19:22, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
- They might not be notable, though. I added these places after I found them in the GNIS, but before I discovered the rule that simply existing in GNIS isn't enough for geographic places. Based on that, I took the articles that I created that I was having trouble finding additional sources or evidence of notability of, draftified then until I could do more research, and removed the entries I had created from the template. I didn't just go deleting redlinks, I deleted redlinks that I had added myself on a mistaken interpretation of the rules, then corrected when I realized my error. Either way, I'm still not sure what you were talking about with the redirecting comment, as none were redirects to the county.nf utvol (talk) 01:47, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

Nyttend, please correct this error
editNyttend, You created an entry for the historic home in Henrico named Edge Hill - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edge_Hill_(Richmond,_Virginia). You describe the accompanying photo as Front of Edge Hill but the street side view is the back. The south-facing front is magnificent and cannot be seen from Greenview Drive. This error would not matter but that the front of the house is significant to it's historic designation, please correct the text for your photo. Kwhopson (talk) 11:31, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
Partial blocks
editPer your question at ANI, I'll try to answer.
You can block editors from specific pages, in whatever namespace, or from entire namespaces. This is often useful in stopping edit warriors, as it's less drastic than a siteblock, and allows them to make their case on the article talkpage, for instance. You can block from multiple pages in different namespaces.
Namespace blocks can be useful for dealing with an editor who is to focused on WP space pot-stirring. . . Someone who is less than competent with templates might need a template space block. I've also used it for editors who are polite and communicative, but who have chronic sourcing issues in article space.
It can be extremely useful where you might otherwise have to place an overly large IP rangeblock - you can deal with a focused problem IP range by blocking the individual articles or editors they've focused on. Harassment IPs are often dealt with that way.
I wasn't keen on it at first, and there are still many times when someone just needs a siteblock. But it's a little gentler than a siteblock for editors whose problems can be isolated to a few locations, or where you want to preserve access to most of the 'pedia from a big range..
Hi, just checking why you reverted my edit? Equine-man (talk) 20:12, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Belated Welcome back!
editHello, Nyttend,
I just saw your message an AN and I must say that I noticed your absence over the years but I hadn't noticed that you had returned and got your mop back. You were missed! We are short-handed in several admin areas on the project so, however you wish to contribute, your presence is very welcome. I myself took two years off, from 2016-2018 while I dealt with issues in my off-line life and I was glad I took a break. I hope you still find the work here satisfying. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of the old-timers. Liz Read! Talk! 04:31, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello Nyttend, could you please explain to me why you arbitrarily deleted Middlesex Record Office from the disambiguation page? In my opinion, the encyclopedic relevance is clearly given due to the presence of the article about the successor organization. Max12Max (talk) 17:07, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

Please see MOS:GEOLINK
editHi Nyttend, I just made an edit to bring the Neal, Kansas, article in line with MOS:GEOLINK:
Greenwood County, Kansas, United States (Greenwood County, Kansas, United States
)
Greenwood County, Kansas, United States (Greenwood County, Kansas, United States
)
I happened to take a look at the history of the article and noticed that you have been recently working on this and some related articles. It would be great if you could also help to fix some of the overlinking in these articles, in line with MOS:GEOLINK. Thanks! —Bkell (talk) 18:08, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
The article Robinson Township, Pennsylvania has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not required due to WP:TWODABS. Articles now appear separately at Robinson, and both link to each other.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Voice of Clam (talk) 07:54, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

First Denbigh Parish Church Archeological Site Picture - precision location?
editHi Nyttend! You have an original picture attached to the First Denbigh Parish Church Archeological Site article here . In the description, you have it located 'off Miller Road' at 37° 06′ 14″ N, 76° 33′ 07″ W. Based on the NRHP nomination documentation, https://www.dhr.virginia.gov/VLR_to_transfer/PDFNoms/121-0037_First_Denbigh_Church_AE_Site_1982_Final_Nomination.pdf, the location was cited as being nearest 18 Walters Road, about 4500ft south, at the next creek convergence. Language in the NRHP doc described 15 feet out of 50 of the church having being lost to erosion before rip rap was added, implying it was right on the river. The Newport News property records at https://assessment.nnva.gov/PT/datalets/datalet.aspx?mode=sales&UseSearch=no&pin=178000121&jur=700&taxyr=2025&LMparent=20 also match the NRHP assertion of a Donald Shenk owning the land at the time of the 1981/2 submission. Before I update, do you happen to have a different source or personal knowledge that would put the location that 0.85 miles north, near Miller Road? Invitation to participate in a research
editHello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
Hurricane Kristy (2024)
editI saw that two days ago you had overruled my decline of Hurricane Kristy (2024) and moved it into mainspace anyway. There was an active discussion as to whether Category 5 hurricanes warrant notability, and the article will now most likely be merged. Why did you move it? SirMemeGod 17:17, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
Since you said you were curious about CTOP
editSince you mentioned that you weren't familiar with the CTOP protection enforcements and were curious - if enforcing a protection of a page as part of WP:CTOP - there's a logging procedure outlined at Wikipedia:Contentious_topics#Logging to log said protection at the relevant subsection in the log, such as Wikipedia:Arbitration_enforcement_log#American_politics_(CT/AP) for enforcing an AMPOL protection so a history of such protections is centralized, for example to say be able to see how often a certain arbitration enforcement had to be enacted each year. As I'm editing fairly frequently on various CTOP articles and counter vandalism patrol, I've encountered my fair share of it, so I've become fairly familiar with the theoretical aspect of it to seek help from admins on it to help enforcement as necessary :) It's up to the admins discretion, but given the vandalism appeared clearly politically motivated, I would have considered it to fall under the AMPOL CTOP, which is why I suggested logging it, but it's up to you as the admin that imposed it of course :) Raladic (talk) 04:35, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
