All the other dictionaries say "origin unknown" - is it not likely that the term "Fink" derives from "Mike Fink", noted tough guy (he was basically Davy Crockett without the good points). Might be worth mentioning the possibility. 90.207.62.31 14:34, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
- The term has a connotation of doing things being one's back, which would be out of character for the brutally upfront Mike Fink. If I had to guess, it might be related to German Fink ("finch"), and stretching even further, the idiom a little birdie told me. Chuck Entz (talk) 19:13, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
