season ticket (plural season tickets)

  1. A ticket that is valid for all of the events in a series of related events for which individual tickets would otherwise be needed.
  2. A ticket that is valid for multiple rides (limited by number of rides and/or time of travel) by public transit for which individual tickets would otherwise be needed.

      One of them ended its career as a passenger carrying vehicle in 1907, by freezing in Kemp Town Tunnel, to the discomfiture of some important season ticket holders, who did not hesitate to let the directors know what they thought about the incident.
    • 2020 January 2, “Upturn in train punctuality and in freight's fortunes”, in Rail, page 13:
      Rail fares rose above inflation by an average of 2.8% in January 2019, compared with a 2.5% rise in the Retail Price Index. But season tickets continued to decline in popularity - they now account for 20.6% of ticket revenue.
