More pieces to the puzzle that is Christopher Nolan's mystery 2020 "event film" are coming into place.

After word broke that BlacKkKlansman breakout John David Washington would star in the untitled release, Robert Pattinson has joined the project in another leading role, while Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 star Elizabeth Debicki takes the female lead, EW has learned.

Details on the work are scarce at the moment, but, as EW previously reported, it's said to be a massive, innovative action blockbuster. Nolan will also be tapping his new favorite format, IMAX, for his follow-up to Dunkirk.

Pattinson, 32, strategically moved past his Twilight days with an onslaught of noteworthy roles, from Cosmopolis and The Rover to The Lost City of Z and Good Time. This year alone he'll be seen Claire Denis' anticipated next effort, High Life, as well as Netflix's Henry V film with Timothée Chalamet, The King. A Nolan film would mark another high.

Debicki, 28, has been having her own moment after The Great Gatsby and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. She earned her place in Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe as the gold-skinned Ayesha in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 (and time will tell regarding Vol. 3 if that end-credits scene was any indication), followed by a scene-stealing turn in Steve McQueen's Widows opposite Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, and Cynthia Erivo.

The film is currently scheduled for release on July 17, 2020.

Collider first reported the news on Pattinson, while Variety broke the Debicki news.
