Played by Minha Kim and Lee Minho, the two find their way back to one another in the upcoming season, premiering Aug. 23, while their son, Noa, is now all grown up. In the generation-spanning historical drama, young Sunja and Hansu reconnect in Osaka circa 1945. "Do you remember? How happy we were then?" Hansu asks his former flame. Sunja asks, "How did you find me?" "I never lost you," he says. The turmoil is captured in the trailer. "The Americans want us all to burn," says Hansu. Elsewhere, in present-day Tokyo in 1985, Sunja's future grandson Solomon (Jin Ha) appears to still be reeling from his friend Hana's (Mari Yamamoto) death. Present-day Sunja, played by Academy Award winner and Minari breakout Youn Yuh-jung, reminds her grandson: "Do not forget who you are." Jimmi Simpson returns as Solomon's boss Tom, as does Anna Sawai — fresh off her first Emmy nomination for her memorable turn in Shōgun — as Solomon's coworker Naomi. From series creator and showrunner Soo Hugh, Pachinko follows four generations of a Korean immigrant family in Japan, beginning in 1915 and spanning up to 1980s. It also stars Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, and Sungkyu Kim. Pachinko returns Aug. 23 followed by new episodes on Fridays.
