August is a resident of the Hideaway in Final Fantasy XVI. He is a veteran Cursebreaker who often leads Bearer-liberation missions and organizes training for new recruits. August is close friends with the hideaway's resident blacksmith, Blackthorne.

Appearance
August has brown hair and mustache. He has had his Bearer's brand surgically removed, leaving behind a scar to the left side of his face. He has blue eyes. August wears a soldier's attire with leather armor, shoulder pauldrons and a mantle.
Personality
August is friendly and personable, even able to befriend the sullen and withdrawn Blackthorne. Even when everyone else takes Blackthorne's standoffish countenance as given, August notices right away when something is bothering him and comes up with ways to figure out how to mend it.
Etymology
August a name developed from the Latin, Augustus. Derived from the Latin word augere, meaning "to increase", Augustus had the meaning "esteemed" or "venerable" and was a title given to Roman emperors.
