Game appearances
Final Fantasy XIII
"Fighting Fate" is the battle theme for the battles of all three incarnations of Barthandelus. It explicitly references the intent of Galenth Dysley to use the l'Cie as his tools to bring about Ragnarok, an incarnation of wrath, so as to destroy Cocoon. It is the 17th track of the third disc of the Original Soundtrack.
Notably, Barthandelus recites its lyrics while under the guise of Serah at Oerba, and adds "Make of this day a brave epoch. Deliver the Divine, Ragnarok". In Latin, it is "Creo dies tempo fortis. Vindico divinum, Ragnarok".
A version without the chorus plays as the main characters are chased by Yaag Rosch while escaping the Palamecia. It was included on the Original Soundtrack PLUS album.
