Sword Dance (ソードダンス or 剣の舞い or 剣の舞 or つるぎのまい, Sōdo Dansu or Ken no Mai or Tsurugi no Mai?, lit. Sword Dance), also known as Blade Dance, Sword Quiver, or Saber Dance, is a recurring ability from the Final Fantasy series. It is usually a powerful physical attack, and has been usable by both the player party and enemies.
Appearances
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Sword Dance is a Band ability formed by combining Edward's Bardsong with Cecil's Attack command. It does physical damage to enemies.
Final Fantasy V
Sword Dance is one of four random abilities from the Dance command. The Dancing Dagger randomly uses the Dance command instead of the Attack command when used for attack. In the Pixel Remaster, the move deals full damage from the back row. Useful for the more frail job classes like the Dancer.
Sword Dance attacks a single enemy with four times the strength of a normal attack. There is a 1/4 chance of the Dance command using Sword Dance, but this chance doubles to 1/2 when the user equips the Rainbow Dress, Red Slippers, or Lamia's Tiara. Any added abilities from equipped weapons don't trigger when using Sword Dance.
The easiest way to trigger the overflow glitch is by performing a Sword Dance after having maxed both Strength, Speed, and Level via Sing while wielding either the Chicken Knife or a weapon with more than 105 attack wielded with Two-Handed.

Etymology
Sword dances are recorded from throughout world history. There are various traditions of solo and mock battle sword dances from Greece, the Middle East, Pakistan, India, China, Korea, England, Scotland and Japan. Many believe that sword dancing evolved from the early Chinese art of wu shu. The simple martial art became a military training technique with swords and spears and then turned into an elaborate acrobatic dance.
