Godzilla: Legends

Godzilla: Legends is a comic book miniseries by IDW Publishing. It ran from November 16, 2011, to March 14, 2012. Consisting of a series of one-shot stories, each issue follows a monster in the Godzilla franchise. Godzilla is usually a secondary character in this series, something unique among IDW's comics.

Information

Legends consists of five self-contained stories with different artists, writers, and colorists, each centering around one monster: Anguirus, Rodan, Titanosaurus, Hedorah, and Kumonga.

Chris Mowry served as creative consultant and letterer for the series, and Bobby Curnow was the editor for the series.

Reception

Godzilla: Legends was very well-received, as critics praised the focus placed on lesser-known monsters and the unique art style present in each issue. Matt Frank's artwork on the first issue of the series most likely led to him becoming the lead artist for the later main series, Godzilla: Rulers of Earth.
