TriStar Pictures, Inc. (spelled as Tri-Star until 1991) is an American film production/distribution studio and subsidiary of Columbia Pictures, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
TriStar produced the 1998 American Godzilla film, Godzilla: The Series, and distributed many of the Japanese Godzilla films in the United States from 1998 to 2005.
TriStar's version of Godzilla would later be reintroduced into the Godzilla franchise as Zilla, and continues to appear in official merchandise licensed by Toho.
