Afghanistan, officially known as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country located in south central Asia. It is bordered by Pakistan to the south, Iran to the west, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to the north, and China to the north-east.
