Caddy

There are probably several excellent reasons why a modified golf caddy is the time-honored choice for getting around in your subterranean lair.Maze Bank Foreclosures description.

The bunker variant of the Caddy is a warehouse utility vehicle appearing in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Gunrunning update.

Design

Grand Theft Auto Online

The bunker Caddy is initially available as a "Transportation" option for the owners of a bunker (dubbed "Caddy 2"), which takes the appearance of a conventional electric platform truck (also called "warehouse utility vehicles"), inspired by vehicles like the E-Z-GO Industrial or the Taylor-Dunn burden carriers.

This variant appears as a ride-on vehicle with similar features to the civilian Caddy, but assumes a roof-less design with a shorter wheelbase and seemingly longer overhangs (compared to the longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs of the other two models). The front end of the vehicle has a rather flat shape with a rusted-out trim near the cabin area and mounts a large defense framing with two circular headlamps above, while the rear end mounts a smaller defense framing and a set of rounded tail lights above (consisting of a single red unit on the left and split red/white units on the right). The sides of the vehicle have a similar rusted-out trim at the bottom, black sections for the front and rear wheel arches and black armrests/handles beside the seats, while the section behind the cabin has a large platform with small hooks on either side.

The interior of the vehicle has similar features to the civilian Caddy, being the rusty steering column support, the sloped foot rest for the passenger and the seat backrests. However, there are numerous switches on the dashboard and a fire extinguisher on the passenger side (in front of the foot rest), while the main seats have a traditional finish rather than the camo pattern from the civilian variant.

The vehicle can spawn empty or with an assortment of cargo on the back as three different extras: the first one has fewer items around the front of the platform, the second one has several items on the entire platform and the third one is a variation of the second extra with a small canvas on top, strapped to the side hooks. The items one can see are Jerry Cans, ammo crates and a single HMG ammo box, which is the same ones on the Machine Gun option of the Anti-Aircraft Trailer. The vehicle is seen with the same color sets and wheel design as the civilian variant.

Performance

Grand Theft Auto Online

The Caddy has a small electric engine which powers it up to basic speeds. It has decent acceleration, but a very low top speed. The Caddy is not meant to travel at high speeds, and as such, it is particularly unpredictable, seemingly alternating between understeer or oversteer. The small wheelbase gives it a very tight cornering radius at low speeds, though. Crash deformation is unsurprisingly poor, taking as little as one hit to be completely disabled. The low weight of the Caddy means it is knocked off the road by almost any other cars, especially large ones such as the Sandking, Dubsta 6x6, or Insurgent.

The bunker variant is shown to have an even more unpredictable behaviour due to its shorter wheelbase, and the longer overhangs also mean it often scratches with obstacles such as curbs and steep inclines, and it also struggles to navigate through uneven terrain or narrow passages.

Prominent Appearances in Gameplay

Grand Theft Auto Online

  • The Doomsday Scenario - Two are seen in the loading bay area, right after arriving from the entrance tunnel.

Notable Owners

Locations

Grand Theft Auto Online

  • It can spawn near the main loading bay area of a Bunker assuming the player chooses the "Caddy 2" option when purchasing accessories for their bunker (enhanced version only). It costs $120,000.
  • It can be spawned for free by calling Agent 14's Transportation Services.

Trivia

Grand Theft Auto Online

  • The "bunker" variant of the Caddy is used to tour the player around their bunker after purchasing it. During the tour, Agent 14 misses a turn-off, and makes an awkward three-point turn in the corridor, remarking while doing it that he should have just reversed instead. This is a clear reference to the famous corridor "three-point turn" scene from Austin Powers.[1]

Oversights

Grand Theft Auto Online

  • Due to reused assets with the civilian variant, the "bunker" Caddy retains the plate light, even though there is no actual plate.
