Jack O’ Lanterns are a seasonal collectible in Grand Theft Auto Online, added as part of the continuation of The Criminal Enterprises update during the Halloween 2022 (Week 2) event and returned during the Halloween 2023 (Week 4) event.

Description

There are 200 Jack O’ Lanterns scattered throughout the state of San Andreas, located at the entrances of various buildings and houses. They can be collected once a day and will respawn every day. Approaching a Jack O' Lantern does not make an audible sound unlike some other GTA Online collectibles, though approaching them will cause the player's controller to vibrate if playing with one, with the vibrations growing more intense as they get closer to the lantern.

Upon reaching a Jack O' Lantern, it will give a notification to the player to collect it.

Press [button] to collect the Jack O’ Lantern.

After collecting the first Jack O' Lantern during a day, the player can track up to 10 Jack O' Lanterns in the Daily Collectibles section of the Interaction Menu.

You can track how many Jack O’ Lanterns you have collected each day via the Inventory section of the Interaction Menu.

After collecting 10 Jack O' Lanterns, the interaction menu stat will be 10/10 and will no longer increase, even though the player can collect all 200 lanterns in a day.

Rewards

Each collected lantern rewards the player with tricks or treats; either nefarious effects or bonuses. However, collecting 10 Jack O' Lanterns daily will award $50,000 to the player's wallet, and the Horror Pumpkin Mask on the first completion.

Collecting all 200 in a single day (between resets, like any other daily collectable that will reset at 6:00 AM UTC) will reward the player with the Pumpkin Tee and another $50,000.

Tricks Or Treats

	Peyote	Player gets the effects of a Peyote Hallucination for 2 minutes.**

**Unlike Peyote Plants the hallucination effect only last for 2 minutes. It will automatically end after 2 minutes if the player doesn't end it prematurely or dies.

Oversights

• Being in Passive Mode will protect the player from the Explosion trick, although the player can still get fall damage.
• If the player is in a session when daily events are reset (6 am UTC), the number of collected Jack O' Lanterns will not be reset and still carry the stats from the previous day. To avoid this bug go into story mode or creator mode before the time of reset and rejoin back after the reset time.
