Murrieta Heights is primarily a residential neighborhood with surrounding industrial fields and freeway intersections. The neighborhood, together with the rest of East Los Santos, is one of the highest areas of the city, due to its proximity to the Tataviam Mountains. The neighborhood is primarily Hispanic and is also a hangout spot for several Latino gangs.

Events of Grand Theft Auto V

This is the place where Trevor needs to fly with the chopper during the mission Surveying the Score, to overwatch two Gruppe Sechs trucks heading to the Union Depository.

Events of Grand Theft Auto Online

Murrieta Heights appears in several missions, principally Lester's missions, where the player needs to deliver stolen cars or helicopters to Lester's warehouse.

Influence

Murrieta Heights takes its influence from Montecito Heights. The neighborhood's name could be a reference to Joaquin Murrieta, a famous figure in California during the Gold Rush of the 1850s. The name may also come from the city of Murrieta, California, named after Juan Murrieta, a Spanish land owner in California in the late 19th century.

Transport

The intersection between the Olympic Freeway and the Del Perro Freeway is situated in the neighborhood, it's also the first neighborhood that the player will see after arriving from Blaine County through the Palomino/Senora Freeway.
