Out of Towners, abbreviated as O.o.T. and sometimes referred to as Out of Towners Welcome, is a bar and restaurant chain appearing in Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Grand Theft Auto V, and Grand Theft Auto Online.
Description
The chain has multiple locations in Liberty City and a location in Los Santos. Its logo and locations feauture a green and white color scheme. None of the featured locations are accessible by the player and most serve no significance to the storyline.
In Grand Theft Auto V, a character switch scene with Trevor can be found arguing with a security guard at the beach entrance of the restaurant in GTA V.
With the Arena War update in Grand Theft Auto Online, segments of two refreshed logos, an adjusted color scheme, and a new pattern theme for Out of Towners can be seen on the Pump & Run livery for the Nightmare Deathbike and the Out Of Towners livery for the Nightmare Issi.
Influence
The chain is based on the casual dining chain TGI Fridays. The chain's description on LibertyCityNightlife.com mentions appletinis and jalapeno poppers, referencing TGI Fridays' unique menu options. The brand's logo refresh with the Arena War update also closely resembles TGI Fridays' current logo. The restaurant's name may be a reference to the 1970 movie The Out-of-Towners.
