Rooftop Rumble is a mission in Grand Theft Auto Online given to the player by Martin Madrazo. It is available for up to 4 players.
Description
The FIB agents and The Professionals [1] members are dealing documents that Martin wants in a parking lot at the intersection of Adam's Apple Boulevard and Little Bighorn Avenue in Mission Row.
Players must travel to the parking lot where there is a trigger point on the south side at the Adam's Apple Boulevard entrance. Numerous Fugitives are parked along with two FIB Grangers, a Gauntlet and an Emperor. Three of the four vehicular entry points to the building are blocked by parked cars. Eight Professionals and five FIB agents armed with Assault Rifles are conducting a handover of the _target documents. One of the Professionals can be heard mentioning company secrets during the mission, implying that he is getting questions from one of the FIB invading his privacy regarding his company.
From this point, this mission has been patched many times to fix bugs/exploits and increase the difficulty.
Version History
May 2014-current
In the High Life Update in May 2014[2], the mission difficulty was changed, similar to Coveted. The player(s) must kill all the FIB agents and Professionals at the parking lot. Backup arrives from the south along Little Bighorn Avenue in a Fugitive containing four more FIB agents. Once all of the two factions are killed, two more Fugitives full of FIB agents will approach from the west along Adam's Apple Boulevard and Vespucci Boulevard into the alleyway north of the building. Once four of the eight new agents are killed, one more agent in another Fugitive will flee the scene heading north on Strawberry Avenue. If he isn't killed en route, he will drive to Stoner Cement Works where there are five more Professionals with another parked Fugitive and a standard civilian Granger. They will need to be killed to allow the player to safely retrieve the documents. The FIB agent with the documents is armed with a Pistol and can be shot and killed by the Professionals who are armed with SMGs when the player arrives.
Once the documents are secured, players will need to deliver them to Martin Madrazo's house on Hillcrest Avenue in Vinewood Hills.
Along with all other contact missions [3] the payout method was changed in August 2014 to a time spent scale, further reducing the potential for exploitation of this mission.
- Video Walkthrough
Early 2014
The player(s) must kill all the FIB agents and Professionals at the site.
Backup will arrive at the front and rear, however they do not need to be killed to progress the mission. Once the initial NPCs are killed, one more agent in a Fugitive will shortly spawn at the intersection of Vespucci Boulevard and Sinner Street at one of 4 spawn points and attempt to escape. If he isn't killed in time, he will drive to Stoner Cement Works where there are more Professionals, and they will need to be killed to allow the player to safely retrieve the documents. The players could then proceed to deliver them to Martin Madrazo's house.
2013-2014
Difficulty was increased early in 2014 without specific mention in any patch notes:
The player(s) must kill all the FIB agents and Professionals at the site. The documents will be dropped by one of the NPCs, usually inside the parking building. The players could then proceed to deliver them to Martin Madrazo's house encountering multiple Professionals in up to 4 Grangers chasing them.

Bugs Glitches and Exploits
- From March 24-27, 2014, Rooftop Rumble was not available to play in Grand Theft Auto Online with Rockstar citing that they were fixing "an issue" with the mission.[4]
2013
The mission received several updates in 2013 without specific mention in the patch notes:
- The agents would originally spawn on the top level of the parking building (hence the title of the mission which no longer accurately describes the actual mission tasks) and could be sniped from a distance.
- This was changed in a very early patch to spawn all NPCs on the ground level.
- However, in this patched version, players were able to just destroy the documents within seconds of commencing the mission and still get the maximum payout.
- However, in this patched version, players were able to just destroy the documents within seconds of commencing the mission and still get the maximum payout.
- This was then also patched reasonably quickly to give the mission more of a challenge and to prevent further exploitation of that bug for easy RP and money.
- After this patch, but prior to the High Life Update, destroying the document requested by Madrazo may have resulted in an incorrect mission failure screen, stating, "A professional was killed".
Mission Objectives
- Go to the parking lot.
- Take out the Professionals.
- Steal the documents.
- Deliver the documents to Madrazo's house.
