Smash and Grab is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories given to protagonist Toni Cipriani by Leone Crime Family Caporegime Vincenzo Cilli from his warehouse in Atlantic Quays, Portland, Liberty City.

Mission

Toni drops by Vincenzo's warehouse in Atlantic Quays to get more work. Vincenzo is once again not happy to see Toni, since he is furious about three members of the gang who have messed up a 'simple' job at the AMCo. Petrol Station in Harwood. Toni pokes fun at Vincenzo, who then sends him to rescue the gang from the Liberty City Police Department officers.

Toni grabs a four-door vehicle and drives to the petrol station in Harwood. After entering the petrol station, the Leone Family gang members get in the car and Toni drives to the Pay 'n' Spray in Red Light District and loses the police. Toni then drives to Vincenzo's warehouse in Atlantic Quays to complete the mission.

The reward for completing the mission is $1,000, as well as unlocking the missions Hot Wheels and Snappy Dresser.

Toni Cipriani enters Vincenzo Cilli's warehouse in Atlantic Quays, where he's sitting at a desk and stands up talk to him.
Vincenzo: Oh, it's you.
Toni: Yeah, how about that. It's me. What-do-you-know!
Vincenzo: I'll tell you what I know, tough guy. Some of our boys have screwed up a simple, no-brain, fucking job.
Cut to AM gas station at Harwood, where some Leone family members are fighting over the Liberty City Police Department with Vinecnzo talking over.
Vincenzo: Lousy bastards can't even pull off a simple raid.
Cut back to Vincenzo's warehouse, with Vincenzo himself explains about the unsuccessful raid.
Vincenzo: Marron! Why am I surrounded by so many fucking idiots?
Toni: I don't know, "birds of a feather"?
Vincenzo: Oh, you're a fucking comedian! Well, laugh this off wise-guy; you're the one who's gonna clean up this shit for me! Now get over there and drag those morons back there!
Toni leaves the warehouse and drives in a four-seater car to the AM gas station to pick up the Leone family gang members.
Member: What are we gonna do?!
The gang members get in the car while the police cars start to chase them.
Member: Floor it, Toni!
Toni manages to lose the police cars and drops off the Leone gang members at the warehouse.


Post-Mission Phone Call

Mrs Cipriani: Toni? It's your Ma! How long have you been back in town? How come you don't come and see me? What's wrong with you? I'm your mother for her holiness'-sake! Come on.

Notes

  • Any vehicle brought to Vincenzo's place will disappear after the cutscene. In order to continue the mission, a four-door vehicle must be obtained. There is usually a black Kuruma parked right next to Vincenzo's building.
  • The most likely cause of mission failure is driving over a spike belt, which renders vehicles virtually uncontrollable. This also applies to the Hot Wheels mission that follows.
  • Leone thugs could have many different lines in the mission:
    • We're screwed!
    • I ain't doing time for that bastard Vincenzo!
    • Let's get the fuck out of here!
