- 1781: Porteus Knatchbull is elected Minister for Magic to replace the recently deceased Maximilian Crowdy.[1]
- 1782: Flavius Belby discovers the Lethifold and survives its attack.[2]
- 1782: Prime Minister Lord North calls in Minister for Magic Knatchbull for assistance in dealing with King George III's mental illness. Rumours spread that North believed in wizards, and he was voted out of office on a motion of no confidence.[1]
- 1784: The Warlocks of Zanzibar start brewing White Rat Whisky in their cellars.[3]
- 1785: The fifty-fifth Wizarding Schools Potions Championship is held.[4]
- 1789: Unctuous Osbert is elected Minister for Magic.[1]
- 1789: Production of Professor Perry's Piscatorial Polish starts, in the town of Barfreston, England.[5]
