The Giant Rat was a species of rat, noted for being much larger than the standard members of the species. Unlike normal rats, the Giant Rat stood on its hind legs, and generally adopted a more bipedal gait. The increase in size granted them protection from the weakness to the Knockback Jinx normal rats had, but they were still vulnerable to the Verdimillious Charm and Verdillious.[1]
Giant Rats could commonly be found in houses and barns, and were also found in places such as Gringotts Wizarding Bank.[1]
