Professor Mordicus Egg (fl. 1963–1993) was a wizard and an expert on Muggles. He authored two known books on Muggles.[1][3] He also served as a Professor and later Headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[2]
Biography
Egg was born prior to 1963 and eventually became a Professor[1] and later Headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in his older years.[2] His name was carved into the wall of the Divination Classroom in the North Tower.[4]
He was either visiting or working at Hogwarts in the winter of 1993, where he was seen on the Marauder's Map.[5]
Works
Behind the scenes
- It is possible that he was the male Muggle Studies teacher replaced by Charity Burbage, thus explaining both his knowledge of Muggles and his presence at Hogwarts. Another possibility is that he gained his title through his work at the Institute of Muggle Studies.
