- "Greetings, students. Gather around. Today, the leaves will speak to us. We'll look to nature for truths untold, using the art of phyllomancy. No leaf has ever fallen casually. It is always with purpose."
- — Professor Trelawney to seventh-year Divination students[src]
Phyllomancy was a form of divination which involved interpreting the future through using leaves.[1]
History
During the 1990–1991 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Sybill Trelawney taught seventh-years about how to perform phyllomancy in Divination.[1]
