Amos is a major character in book 1 of Skybound Comet's, Clementine series. He is a hopeful young man hailing from an Amish community and travels together with Clementine towards a location in Vermont.
Appearance
Amos is a young Caucasian man of a short height but with a decently strong build. He has short scruffy blond hair and freckles, along with large eyes and thin eyebrows.
He wears a dark shirt with a white button up shirt under it, while also wearing a long white scarf. He also wears dark trousers, shoes, and gloves. Because Amos is Amish, he is noticed for always wearing a traditional felt hat.
Personality
Amos is a good-natured optimist to his core. Caring a lot for making good connections with others and generally has an idealistic view on the dark world around him. Which in the beginning made him but head with Clementine, who is considerably more pessimistic as a person.
Story
Past
Amos was born in the United States of America, in the year of 1995. He grew up in an Amish community within the state of Pennsylvania.
In June of 2003, the global outbreak happened. Causing Amos and his people to turn their community into a zombie-free safe zone. With Amos and his people being skilled (or lucky) enough to survive numerous years into the apocalypse.
Around the year 2012, word begins to spread within Amos' community that a small group of people are attempting to create a new settlement in Vermont. Making Amos decide to temporarily leave his town and help them out.
Book One
Chapter One
Amos can be briefly seen walking through the Amish settlement while talking to a girl, whilst also passing by Clementine.
Chapter Two
Amos is seen departing on horseback and cart from his community towards Vermont, waving goodbye to his fellow townsmen who wish him good luck on his journey. He briefly stops after he hears a girl calling out to him as a group of Zombies try to attack Amos and his horse. Amos, however, kills them all very easily. He then proceeds to walk over to the girl and introduces himself, already being aware that the girl he’s talking to is the same girl that just visited his community a day ago, a girl named Clementine. While Clementine attempts to move on and doesn’t want to participate in the conversation. Amos happily and naively keeps on talking, and after hearing that Clementine is also planning on going north. The two of them decide to stick together as Amos is now going to Vermont together with Clementine, although she goes along with him rather reluctantly.
With the two on the road. Amos explains to Clementine about his destination and what his plan is there, but he loses her confidence once he tells her that he will be awarded with a plane flight, which Clementine thinks is rather ridiculous. Amos tells Clem that he is only capable of even going there because of him convincing the council to start doing Rumspringa again, claiming that they shouldn’t be waiting for the old world to come back and then return to their traditions, although Clem pessimistically states that nothing is coming back for anyone. Amos then notices that Clem is stumbling a lot due to her new prosthetic, he then requests her to come sit in the buggy so she can catch her breath, which she grudgingly does.
The two continue traveling northwards, and when Amos asks Clementine if she’s ever been on a plane, a small argument ensues with Amos’ optimism being challenged. As Clem requests him to go back home, still believing that his goal is either “bullshit” or that it will result in something “a lot worse”. But Amos doesn’t give in, even assuming that Clem believes the hard work Amos will have to endure shouldn't be met with a reward, only does this statement annoy Clementine even further. While Amos tries to argue with Clementine, he is stopped, however, by an incoming horde of Zombies which he and Clementine start killing off.
