Claggor

We don't want any trouble.Claggor trying to avoid a fight.

Claggor is a major character in the Riot Games/Netflix 2021 animated series Arcane.

He was one of Vander's adoptive children as well as the adoptive brother of Vi, Powder, and Mylo. Just like his siblings, he's an orphan from the Undercity and was taken in by Vander after losing both his parents. After Silco kidnapped Vander, he goes on a rescue mission with Vi and Mylo to get him back, only to be killed by Powder's monkey bomb by accident when she followed them. After his passing, he's seen as one of Jinx's hallucinations as she imagines him and Mylo haunting her.

He was voiced by Roger Craig Smith who's famous for voicing Sonic the Hedgehog in numerous pieces of media.

Appearance

Claggor is a young man in his mid teens with a heavy but strong build. He has curly brown hair and is typically seen wearing a pair of goggles along with a blue shirt with a bit of yellow in it as well as a pair of boots and blue pants.

Personality

Despite being the quietest member of Vander's kids, Claggor is also the most empathetic and kindhearted, trying to avoid confrontation when surrounded by Deckard and his gang, as well as urging Mylo to stop bothering Powder when the former kept picking on her. He also selflessly volunteers to go along with Vi and Mylo to rescue Vander with no hesitation. Despite his good hearted and pacifistic nature, he's willing to fight if left with no other option and follows Vi when she leads them on a mission to break into Jayce's apartment, although he's clearly reluctant to do so.

Story

Early Life

Not much is known about Claggor's life before the start of the series. All that's known is that at one point he lost his parents just like Vi, Powder, and Mylo, and was taken in by Vander shortly after this event. He along with the rest of his siblings did jobs for their adoptive father as they want to be seen as adults and prove they can be reliable.

Arcane

Claggor is first seen with his siblings traversing the rooftops of Piltover, making their way to an apartment Ekko informed them was perfect for robbing. Although they initially succeed in breaking in and robbing the place, the workshop inadvertently blows up after Powder accidentally sets off a gemstone bomb while trying to make her way out. After being seen by some Enforcers, Claggor and the rest manage to run and escape, making their way back to the Undercity without being caught.

No sooner than the siblings return however, they're ambushed by Deckard and his gang. Claggor tries to stop a fight from breaking out, but to no avail. With no other option, he fights alongside his siblings with the exception of Powder who ran away with their loot after being spotted by one of Deckard's goons. Eventually, Claggor, Vi, and Mylo win the brawl and meet back up with Powder, who reveals she threw away their goods in order to escape. Tired and exhausted, the siblings make their way back to The Last Drop, where Vander lectures them for their recklessness before taking Claggor along with him to meet Benzo at his pawn shop.

When they arrive, Vander talks with Benzo while Claggor chats with Ekko outside the shop. Claggor asks Ekko how he managed to find the apartment he tipped them off about, and Ekko reveals he followed Jayce all the way back to his place after the latter made some purchases at Benzo's shop. Suddenly, the two kids see a couple of Enforcers approaching the shop, which prompts Ekko to urge Claggor to run away, which he does.

Later, Claggor is seen with his siblings in an abandoned arcade in order to lay low while the Enforcers look for them, thinking they'll never check where they're at. However, they're soon discovered when the leader of the group of Enforcers scouting the area named Marcus sees them after one of the officers throws a man they were interrogating through the arcade window. When the Enforcers are about to search Powder, Claggor flips the light switch which gives the group enough time to escape them once again. Afterwards, the kids make their way back to The Last Drop with Ekko tagging along with them.

When Silco tips off Marcus about where to find the teens, Marcus barges into The Last Drop with another officer and orders him to search the place. Vander then silently alerts the kids as he gets Marcus a drink. When the Enforcer makes it to the room where they're hiding in, he's unable to find them as Vi, Powder, Mylo, Claggor, and Ekko are hiding up above him in the rafters. Enraged, Marcus threatens Vander and everyone else in the bar before leaving.

Some time later, Vi attempts to turn herself in to the Enforcers at Benzo's Pawn Shop in order to protect the rest of her siblings but is stopped by Vander who decides to take her place. However, before he can be taken to prison, Benzo and the Enforcers escorting him (save for Marcus) are killed by a mutated Deckard on Silco's orders and end up kidnapping Vander. Vi makes her way back to The Last Drop to inform Claggor, Mylo, and Powder what happened and to tell them how she intends to save him, with Claggor and Mylo accompanying her. Leaving Powder behind to make sure she's safe, the trio find Vander thanks to Ekko's tip, only to discover it was a trap set up by Silco as he intends to kill all of them. Claggor tries to find an alternate escape route for the group while Vi fights Silco's goons and Mylo unlocks Vander's restraints. The group is initally successful as Claggor finds a broken wall and Mylo frees Vander.

Outside at the same time however, Powder followed the group and sees through an open window that they're locked in a room and assumes they're trapped while a mutated Deckard tries to break in. Wanting to help, she sends in a monkey bomb she made using the gemstones from Jayce's apartment. The bomb successfully goes off, but inadvertently kills Claggor and Mylo in the process right before the group can get out.

Legacy

After this incident, years would pass. Ekko would form the Firelights and have a portrait of Claggor painted alongside Mylo, Vi, Powder, and Vander. Meanwhile Powder (who's alive and is now going by Jinx while working for Silco), is haunted by hallucinations of Mylo and Claggor, imagining Mylo taunting her every chance he gets for her failure to save them while Claggor stares at her in silent judgement.

Trivia

  • In an alternate timeline, where Vi died in the explosion raiding Jayce's lab, Mylo and Claggor never died. They both lived to become young adults and young innovators, working on plants that could filter out the fissure gasses in Zaun.
