D-Co9 is the secondary protagonist of The Desolate Hope. They are a formal video game program, Coffee coded to be able to fight viruses after finding them on the space station.
Their vocal effects are provided by an unaccredited Dave Steele who also provided the vocal effects for Coffee in the same series and played Henry Emily in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.
Background
D-Co9 was created by Coffee. They were originally a video game programmed made on the space station however after a while of being locked away within the space station Coffee found them and reprogrammed them. Not much else is known about D-Co9 as the game is intentionally vague about the character, however it's clear that the game which they were made for was a RPG/rouge like video game.
Personality
D-Co9 is very dimwitted as they don't seem to understand much and often have trouble recognizing social cues. Even when Coffee threatens to shut them down should they continue to blabber on about the code they find after killing a virus D-Co9 still persist to bother Coffee about it. D-Co9 is constantly seeking knowledge to better itself and understand the world around it along with its purpose in life. D-Co9 is very delusional (although this could also be because of their lack of intelligence) D-Co9 thinks that they are Coffee sometimes despite Coffee telling them that they aren't them on various occasions and sometimes D-Co9 is seen asking questions about things which don't seem to matter to the current situation.
