Dexter "Dex" Dogtective is the main protagonist of the 2012 critically panned computer-animated film, FoodFight!. He is the mascot of a cereal with the slogan The secret's inside. He is a crimefighting detective of Marketopois and a mascot of a cereal. One day he is going to ask his girlfriend Sunshine Goodness, a mascot for raisins, to marry him. But before he can ask the question, she walks off to do something. Sunshine goes missing and rendering Dex into depression.
He was voiced by Charlie Sheen, who also portrayed the title character in The Wraith, Bud Fox in the Wall Street franchise, Ricky Vaughn in Major League, Aramis in the 1993 film adaptation of The Three Musketeers, Charlie Barkin in All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 and Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men.
Role
Dex is the main fighter of justice of the Marketropolis community, and is supposed to be the president of the U.S.D.A, a organization devoted to solving crimes and aiding people in the Marketropolis. He is the love interest of Sunshine Goodness, whom goes missing at the start of the movie.
Dex then went into a deep depression, and gave up his job as the leading detective in the Marketropolis, took up milkohalism (drinking milk in place of alcohol), and eventually started a popular club named the Copa Banana. However, eventually becomes a crimefighter yet again to search for his friend Daredevil Dan, who turned out to be taken by Brand X.
Personality
He is depicted as blaze and cool, as well as having a passionate thrill for fighting crime and spouting out food-related puns for the sake of comedy.
He cares very much for Sunshine Goodness, and his friend Daredevil Dan, serves as a comic foil as Dan's sidekick. When Dan got depressed, he hides his self-reflection and self-pity under a charismatic facade to cover his constant tasks over finding who kidnapped Sunshine.
He is sometimes seen as horny and/or hedonistic, as Lady X attempted seducing him physically and Dex was getting it on with her.
He always has a strategy for any situation he's in, no matter how chaotic the situation is. But he doesn't have the guts to fight women however.
Trivia
- He could seem quite identical to Ace Hart, as they're both tall anthropomorphic canines who are well-known strategic detectives that happen to be blaze and charismatic, are both Casanovas and are both given comedic lines/traits every now and then.
