Kanjigar the Courageous is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Merlin) of Trollhunters. He was the previous Trollhunter before preceding Jim Lake Jr. who sacrificed himself during the battle with Bular the Butcher from the Gumm-Gumm Army.
In Becoming: Part 1, he is voiced by Tom Hiddleston, who also played James Conrad in Kong: Skull Island, Loki Laufeyson and Variant L1130 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James Hook in The Pirate Fairy and Lord Nooth in Early Man. In the rest of the trilogy, he is voiced by James Purefoy, who also played George in George and the Dragon, Rick Deckard in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and Solomon Kane in the 2009 movie of the same name.
Biography
Kanjigar was the previous Trollhunter before Jim Lake Jr.. When fighting Bular the Butcher under the bridge, Kanjigar threw himself to the sunlight and died, so that Bular can't get the Trollhunter amulet, since trolls are too sensitive to the sunlight and once they are exposed, they turn to stone and die. Kanjigar believes that his amulet will find the next Trollhunter.
Later, a teenager, Jim found the amulet and he got chosen as the next Trollhunter. Kanjigar's spirit became one of the mentors of Jim when training him as a Trollhunter.
Appearance
He is a large troll wearing a Trollhunter armor, similar to the one Jim is wearing, except Kanjiagr has a helmet. He also has a big body with broad shoulders, since that is the built of some trolls. He also appeared to have horns, like most trolls.
Personality
Kanjigar is a selfless type and he is even willing to die in order to prevent evil from winning. He is even proud of the next Trollhunter, since he is a mentor.
