The bonds I have forged will NEVER die! They are the hope we made for ourselves, and the possibility to make our own future!Euden proclaiming the power of bonds.
Thus was lost the prince who had served as Dragalia for countless people and dragons... ...And the world born anew. The narrator describing Euden's final heroic sacrifice
Prince Euden, or just Euden, is the main protagonist of the defunct mobile game Dragalia Lost. The kindhearted and courageous Seventh Scion of Alberia, he sets out on a quest to forge a pact with the dragon Midgardsormr to save his kingdom. On the way, he makes numerous friends and allies who stand by him no matter the trials.
He is voiced by Kōki Uchiyama in the Japanese version, and by Victor Hunter who replaced Vincent Tong in the English version.
Appearance
Euden is a young man with fair skin, blonde hair with an ahoge and green eyes. He wears a white shirt with red and brown details and wears brown pants. His right leg has a red cloth around it, sliver knee length boots, and fingerless gloves.
In his Gala variant and from Chapter 11 onwards, his hair style is changed and he has sliver armor with red and yellow details with a white cape with red, gold and black details. His eyes are also amber in color.
In his Summer variant he wears a white shirt with blue details and a flower necklace, as well as blue shorts and leather boots.
In his Bondforged variant, Euden's hair has grown longer, with green highlights at the end and is now a pale yellow-green, causing him to closely resemble his ancestor Alberius. His eyes are now lime green and he wears a white suit of armor with green details that look like Primal Midgardsormr's horns and body markings.
In the game's finale after being reincarnated into the restored world, Euden wears a simple white shirt with a red vest and seams.
Abilities
- Swordsmanship and knifemanship: Under the guidance of Leif, head of the Royal Guard, Euden has mastered the usage of a sword and knife, being able to channel the elements he is attuned to through his attacks.
- Superhuman strength and durability: Euden has proven himself a capable fighter, being able to face off powerful opponents such as the Archdemons and the Greatwyrms, at times besting them with little difficulty. He also sustained several attacks from Nedrick who at the time, was empowered by a half-pact with the Genesiswyrm Bahamut, and could jump to around the height of the face of Xenos's vessel.
- Indomitable will: Despite the numerous challenges he's faced, Euden has shown to be extremely strong-willed, never backing down from his principles and always ensuring to fight for justice. This has allowed him to weather through numerous powerful foes and trials, from Morsayati and the Dyrenell Empire to even facing Xenos themselves.
- Leadership: Euden has shown to be a rather adept ruler and commander, being able to rule New Alberia as a peaceful and prosperous nation amidst the chaos. However, he is sometimes shown to be neglectful of his duties as he tries to deal with multiple crises all the time, leaving him unable to lead his people.
- Charisma: Euden's sunny disposition and kind heart attract many to him, allowing him to easily make allies and lead his country proficiently.
- Dragon Shapeshifting: Via his pact with Midgardsormr, Euden can shapeshift into the form of any dragon he forms a pact with and gain their strength and powers. He can also share this power with anybody he deems worthy and allow them to shapeshift as well.
- Elemental Powers: Euden has the power to call upon elemental powers he is attuned to, such as fire, light, shadow and wind. When empowered by his bonds it's noted that his magic is extremely powerful, with his wind being capable of wounding the Origin and deflecting his attacks, as well as dealing a killing blow to Xenos with Midgardsormr at his side.
- Bond Empowerment: Calling upon his bonds, Euden can summon a suit of armour and new gear, which are representative of the power he's gained from his friends staying alongside him. Using this power, his strength, durability and magic are significantly increased and he can even negate the Origin's erasure beams thanks to the bonds between he and his friends cementing him in reality.
- Primal Marks: Being a part of Xenos's heart, Euden is one of the only people other than the Auspexes capable of using the Primal Marks, being able to channel them under his will like his counterpart Mordecai. He is also capable of chaneling them without the Auspexes being present. Just before dying thanks to destroying Xenos, Euden has shown to be omnipotent when empowered by the Marks, recreating the universe into a better form when the Auspexes failed to complete this task and even reincarnating a version of himself into said world.
- Black Mana immunity: Being made of the flesh of Morsayati, an immensely powerful eldritch being, Euden is immune to the detrimental effects of black mana and can walk through miasma or float through the void without harm, even using it when he uses apotheosis when he absorbs Volk's black mana to transform into an Agito beast.
- Mana sensing: Euden can detect the flow of mana around him, possibly due to him possessing Xenos's heart. As such, he can detect when one is about to shapeshift and can even track down and cut off any streams of mana causing disruptions, as when he stops the Origin from forcibly shapeshifting Zethia by cutting off his mana.
- Biological immortality(possibly): While unconfirmed, as Sheila, another adventurer made of Morsayati's flesh, hasn't aged in several decades, it's possible that Euden too, ages slower and would've stopped ageing at one point.
Personality
Euden's most notable personality traits are his overwhelming kindness and positivity due to possessing the Progenitor's heart, showing acceptance to everybody, even going the extra mile to do everything in his power to help others, such as shapeshifting into a dragon so his friend Berserker could finally fufill his dream of fighting one, even founding a new kingdom, New Alberia, to provide asylum to the refugees escaping the Dyrenell Empire, even greeting Elisanne's plush toy out of courtesy when he realises she talks to it like a person and treats it as such. He is also very merciful, as when Jupiter tells him to fight his elder brother Emile to the death for a pact with him, he tries to reason with him over the course of the fight and spares him even after beating him. Euden's bravery and willingness to accept a challenge also make him particularly attractive to certain allies as he managed to gain the respect of Ranzal and the Greatwyrms by besting them in battle. This is most exemplified in his final battle with Xenos, which he willingly undertook even though it meant his demise once the Progenitor was felled.
Even in times of trouble and chaos, Euden still holds firm to his values of pacifism, attempting to reason with most foes instead of fighting them off the bat. An example of this is when even though he sees Leonidas's delusions, he still tries to dissuade him from his goals, to no avail. He is also not afraid to express his views as despite Empress Zethia turning all his siblings against him, Euden isn't afraid to call out the demon for his hypocrisy in his goals and remain staunch in his opposition. Euden's values of compassion also extend to his foes as despite all the woes Beren has brought him, he reaches out with his siblings to him, asking for him to forgive them for their father's actions against him and promising to be a true family but to no avail.
These qualities can sometimes become a failing for him however, as his kindness can sometimes make him neglect his duties as he tries to help others, and as he tries his best to help others, he sometimes berates himself when he fails others. He is also shown to go to the extremes to try to help others, as when Morsayati told Euden to become his vessel in exchange for Zethia's freedom, he agreed which is what caused many of the parallel versions of Euden to destroy their worlds. This is paralleled in his archenemy Xenos, whose refusal to let go of his delusions that total order could preserve life acts as a dark reflection of what Euden could have turned out to be if he kept his obsessive desire to save Zethia. Said outcome is given form in his many Otherworld counterparts, particularly Otherworld Euden whose love and care for Zena prompt him to assist Xenos in his genocidal plans in hopes of remaking the world into a better place. Thus, it's to be noted that while Xenos's conscience lends itself to Euden's well meaning actions, it's his ability to recognise reality and his bonds that prevented him from descending into villainy like his other counterparts.
Deep down, Euden also possesses various insecurities. While he is aware of Elisanne and Mym's adoration of him, he barely reciprocates them thanks to believing himself to be unworthy to be loved. Thanks to acknowledging his own strength Euden also frequently puts himself in danger in order to protect his friends, believing that it's his responsibility to keep them safe. Shortly after failing to save Zethia not once, but twice, Euden enters a depressive state and at one point, lashes out at his friends in anger. His self worth further crumbles after the revelation that he's not a true monarch and that he was switched in at birth, causing him to abandon his senses and attack Nedrick in a rage for this truth as well as his kidnapping of Zethia. While Zena's counseling does help him feel better, Euden still feels inadequate about his own abilities and thus, thanks to his friends noticing this, is encouraged to accept Gatov's invitation to a journey to discover his true origins. Through the trials that his friends weather with him, as well as a heartfelt letter from his deceased father, Euden begins to feel a sense of self-worth again as they express how much he means to them and by this journey's end, has had huge burdens lifted off his shoulders as he can fully trust that his friends will back him up as well. However, Euden still feels a sense of regret for not having saved Zethia and after she's rescued, he spends a large portion of his time attempting to make up to her for his failings, being filled with despair after she sacrifices herself to deflect Bahamut's attack. After a heart-to-heart talk, Euden soon realises that all his failings to save Zethia were on part, her fault as she too wanted to protect her friends from harm and thus, he lets go off his fears and begins to treat Zethia more like a sister again.
In the end, Euden sacrifices himself to restore everything and vanquishes Xenos with the help of his friends, all thanks to the bonds he forged along the way. Thus, while he may not be around anymore, Euden's legacy lives on as the friendships his companions hold onto as they spend peaceful lives in the restored world.
Trivia
- In one of his voicelines, he mentions that he plays an instrument, but is not very good at it, saying whenever he plays, it sounds like a strangled cat. It is revealed in the Dragalia Life comics that in addition to the unnamed instrument, he plays the piano which he does quite well.
- He appears to be improving in playing his instrument, and in one of his voicelines for his Bondforged alternate version, he says he wants to hold a small concert after he defeats Xenos.
- He also mentions being bad at cooking and that he enjoys writing stories that Zethia would critique.

- Euden being a replacement for King Aurelius's deceased son is hinted once in the story "The Lone Paladyn", as Elisanne mistakes Euden for Zethia's servant, which Notte thinks is due to his hair being rather straight while his family has wavy hair.
- According to Ranzal, Euden is a bit under 6 feet tall and rather short.
- Despite the game listing his race as "human", Euden technically isn't a human, being made from the flesh of Morsayati animated by Faerie magic, as well as possessing the conscience of Xenos, while only having a bit of dragonblood from the royal family, enough to allow him to shapeshift but not activate Nedrick's tome.
- It's unknown if the Euden that appears in the game's epilogue really is the original Euden or merely a copy of himself he created to keep his friends company, though the remark that Zethis “always used to cry” might imply that this Euden is the original one.
- It's somewhat hinted that despite numerous people having a romantic attraction towards him, Euden might be aromantic-asexual as in Naveen's adventurer story, he fails to understand the concept of romantic attraction, having never experienced it before and seems completely oblivious to the crushes some of his allies have on him. Furthermore, while he does love Mym, it's shown that Euden views their relationship in a more platonic way and loves all the other Greatwyrms in a similar manner.
- Despite being a prince and ruler of a new nation, it’s noted that Euden is casual to a fault with his subjects, frequently hanging out with Ranzal and Luca as well as attending public events as a regular attendee.
- Thanks to Midgardsormr describing Euden as the true symbol of “Dragalia”: the bond between humanoids and dragons, the very title of the game likely foreshadowed Euden’s eventual death as "Dragalia Lost" describes how with Euden's death, the symbol of the bond between humans and dragons would be lost.
