Doctor, it may be that those other men had failed in their lives; however, betrayal goes against my very nature. That man, such a lack of honor, he was pure cowardice. And here am I chivalry incarnate! I could not allow such a man to live in my presence.SCP-5151 to Dr. Moreau.
Doctor, 5151 is enjoyable to be around. In fact, I believe it genuinely enjoys having us around. It is also very helpful in training, both in a physical sense as well as a mental one. That is all true. However, none of us have ever been able to lay a hand on it during our sparring sessions. It is almost like it knows how we will react to every situation. To be honest with you, we all understand that it has a tremendous amount of power that it chooses to hide. We can all feel it. My team is trained well, so we understand this and move on. If not for that, well, I think we would just be paralyzed with fear. We can tell that 5151 wasn't always like this. I don't know why 5151 suppresses itself, but it's like 5151 is just putting on an act most of the time. That is all I wanted to say.Pi-7-1 about SCP-5151.
SCP-5151, also known as The Black Knight, is a character in the SCP Foundation series. He is an ancient immortal knight who greatly values honor and justice above everything else, and is determined to go after anyone he deems dishonorable and cowards. He has a good relationship with the SCP Foundation, making blood-pacts with some of the personnel, but because of his unbreakable oaths of chivalry he could be tricked into killing his friends against his will.
Biography
SCP-5151 was the god of chivalry, honor, and military justice named Honos who alongside his brother Virtus were worshiped and adored by the ancient Romans. He and Virtus would fight together for honor and protect their people, having a great time with each other. Unfortunately, their days of glory came to an end when Christianity began replacing the Roman mythology, causing SCP-5151 and Virtus to be rejected as gods and be forgotten. To make matters worse, the two brothers would get separated, leaving SCP-5151 lonely.
SCP-5151 travelled throughout Europe in the ensuing centuries, defending various local innocent communities from dishonorable people and groups that took advantage of the innocents. From these battles, 5151 became a legendary and respected figure, becoming known as Charles Martel, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, Edward Plantagenet and Zawisza Czarny, though these could have been separate personages that were confused with Honos. He continued his personal campaign for countless years until the modern times, hunting down various criminals that displayed dishonesty on his watch.
On early August of 2019, SCP-5151 went after a trio of murderers and child traffickers E████ ██████, G█████ ████████ and R██ ███████ in France. He managed to kill two of them, while the third was captured by the SCP Foundation's Mobile Task Force Pi-1, also known as "City Slickers". As the MTF was transporting the criminal to Site-06-3, SCP-5151 intercepted their vehicles. The MTF tried to interact with him but seeing that he was making his way to the criminal they tried stop him to no avail. SCP-5151 passed through them and killed the criminal before turning his gaze to a particular MTF agent and seeing that he was a mole for the Chaos Insurgency he also killed him. He then willingly surrendered himself to the rest of the MTF, recognizing them as men of honor and mistakenly assumed that they had been after him to recruit his help.
The MTF notified Site-06-3 and Dr. Sylvian Moreau was sent to interview SCP-5151 in a deserted part of a roadway. Speaking in French, SCP-5151 explained how he detested treacherous individuals and agreed to stay with the Foundation as he had been longing for company, but only on the condition that he had fencing practice with fellow warriors and banquets with them. The terms were accepted and SCP-5151 was transported to Site-06-3 where he requested to make blood-pacts with Moreau and his assistants, or else he wouldn't comply with the containment procedures. Moreau and researchers Nathanael Namreg, Damien Dupree, Abigail Jolly, Angeline Ponce, Alastair Lawrie, Helen Burrows, Michel Bisset and Marvin Tendler all formed blood-pacts with SCP-5151, to ensure his complete containment, though they became distressed at being connected to such a powerful entity.
MTF Pi-7, named "Honor Bound Knights", was formed out of seven agents skilled in hand-to-hand combat to serve as training buddies of SCP-5151, while the connection between the Psi-1 agent he had killed and the Insurgency was uncovered. Wanting to learn more about his background, Moreau interviewed SCP-5151 who told the doctor of his glorious and proud adventures, but abstained from revealing his true origin. However, when getting drunk with Psi-7 he accidentally let slip up some details about his brother and him being a Roman god.
On March 14th of 2020, a unknown entity possibly working for the Insurgency infiltrated the office of Site-06-3's director Troy Boucher where it proceeded to murder him and using his SCiPNET account sent a memo to Moreau to not allow Psi-7 interact with 5151. This caused the blood-pacts established between him and the researchers to break, and the next day SCP-5151 breached containment and went on a killing spree. He slayed every single staff member that had broken the blood-pact, and despite the MTF's best efforts to stop him, he was unable to prevent himself from killing the innocent personnel who in his eyes had betrayed his trust. Once the _targeted personnel were all taken care of, SCP-5151 returned to his normal self, before MTF Epsilon-11 arrived to contain the breach.
Following this incident, SCP-5151 and Psi-7 were taken to the more secure Site-54 where Senior Researcher Herrmann Richter and his own research team were assigned to him. In order to keep him contained his requests were still fulfilled, though his new chamber was reinforced with a grid pattern of electrical wiring. Herrmann interviewed 5151, inquiring on his exact reasoning for killing those he considered his friends before revealing that they had been tricked into breaking their blood-pacts, filling 5151 with guilt. Analyzing the documents previously pertaining to Moreau, Herrmann was able to deduce 5151's true identity as Honos.
Appearance
SCP-5151 appeared as a Caucasian man with black hair and beard, wearing medieval clothing and ornaments like a chain mail hauberk of Polish origin and a laurel wreath around his head.
Powers and Abilities
Being an ancient god, SCP-5151 had various powers that made him nearly invincible. First and foremost he was immortal as he didn't age, couldn't be harmed and didn't require any form of sustenance though he still could eat and drink whenever he wished. His most powerful property was that of intangibility which allowed him to pass through any solid obstacle, and not even devices made of paratechnology could stop him. He could achieve this by changing the composition of his body and garments, making difficult for the Foundation to properly contain him. SCP-5151 was later shown to also be capable of teleportation, manifesting himself near individuals who had broken their blood-pacts with him. Despite his near invincibility, he was shown to be susceptible to electricity. Through time travelling across Europe SCP-5151 learned to speak Polish, English, Spanish, French, besides his native language of Latin.
To add to his powers, SCP-5151 was also a master swordsman, being a formidable knight that could take on his enemies during combat. He had at his disposal a longsword which he could use to stab an individual's aorta to completely exsanguinate them, killing the person instantly. When meeting new people, he was able to see whether they were honorable or not without any mistake, though he would be unsure what kind of dishonorable person they were. SCP-5151 could also form blood-pacts with people he deemed his allies, which appeared as marks reading "honoris" on their hands designated SCP-5151-2, that ensured they kept their promise made to him. SCP-5151-2 was impossible to be removed as if the body part possessing the mark was cut off the mark would reappear somewhere else on the body, but it was theorized that SCP-500 remove the pact without breaking it. If these pacts were broken, involuntarily or otherwise, SCP-5151 would see those people as dishonorable and be forced to kill them, being unable to stop himself even when it was an accident and didn't wish to harm his friends. If he was unable to get to someone who had broken SCP-5151-2, the mark would cause the individual to combust.
Personality
As he personified honor, chivalry and justice, SCP-5151 deemed those traits extremely important, being hostile to anyone who lied, betrayed and took advantage of the innocents and the weak. Back in the ancient times, he was deeply close to his brother Virtus, as he enjoyed going on adventures and partying together. The two were almost inseparable, but once their times of glory were over the siblings parted ways, leaving SCP-5151 disheartened so much that he wished to keep his past to himself and was reluctant to share it with others, even those he considered friends or allies. He went on to spend most of his life hunting down any dishonorable individual he encountered and defending their victims. When he met with the SCP Foundation, he saw them as honorable individuals protecting the world, and formed odd friendships with the majority of the staff assigned to him, forming blood-pacts with Dr. Moreau among other researchers and training with MTF Pi-7, though the researchers felt very uncomfortable and stressed at bearing the mark. He showed some antipathy towards modern day electronic technology as he believed that it corrupted humankind, and wished to be surrounded by traditional classic tools. After the Chaos Insurgency forced those researchers to break the pacts, SCP-5151 was unable to control himself and went to kill every single one of them, and once he finished he returned to his normal self but was left disturbed at having killed those he considered his friends.
