DBTSL Route 4A

The Discovery Bay Internal Resident Bus Route 4A (Transport Department's official route number DB00R) is operated by Discovery Bay Transit Services Limited (DBTSL) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 6185A). It runs one-way from DB North to Coastline Villa, via Chianti, Greenvale Village, Parkridge Village, Beach Village, DB Plaza (near Discovery Bay Pier), La Costa. Services towards DB North is provided by Route 4 instead.

History

11 December 2021: Services of Route 4 towards Peninsula Village (Coastline Villa) was renumbered as 4A, with other service details remain unchanged.

Please use Route 4 for the opposite direction; for passengers travelling from DB North to DB Plaza during the early late night periods, please use Route N4. For passengers travelling from DB Plaza to Coastline Villa during overnight hours, please use Routes N7/8 or N3/2/7/8.

Fare Remarks
Passengers are required to tender exact fare in cash or by Octopus card upon boarding. No change will be given. Discovery Bay Residents can enjoy fare concessions when paying with their registered "Discovery Bay Resident Octopus Card"; if necessary, passengers must present proof of identification for verification. The concession is not applicable to passengers using other Octopus products or paying in cash. Elderly persons aged 65 or above using Elderly Octopus or Personalised Octopus cards, Hong Kong residents aged 60 to 64 using JoyYou Card and eligible persons with disabilities using Personalised Octopus cards with "Persons with Disabilities Status" to pay fares can enjoy a flat fare of $2.0 per journey under the $2 fare concession. Bus deployments

This route uses MAN NL273 and MAN NL323 as the main vehicles, occasionally using Enviro200 Dart.

This route, Routes 4 and N4 are the only Discovery Bay internal bus routes without vehicle restrictions, and double-decker buses are allowed. However, its fleet is shared with 9 and 9A routes which are subject to vehicle restrictions. To avoid mismatch of resources, double-decker buses are seldom deployed.

Ridership

This route, together with 4A, is the Discovery Bay Road Trunk Route, which serves a number of housing estates along the route, and is often fully packed due to the high demand for travelling to and from DB North Plaza and DB Plaza.
