Dalam tata bahasa, predikat adalah bagian kalimat yang menandai apa yang dikatakan oleh pembicara tentang subjek dan biasanya merupakan jawaban atas pertanyaan mengapa atau bagaimana. Pada beberapa bahasa, misalnya bahasa-bahasa dalam rumpun bahasa Indo-Eropa, predikat harus mengandung unsur verba. Predikat (tindakan) dapat diikuti antara lain oleh objek dan adverbia. Kata predikat berasal dari bahasa Latin praedicatum yang artinya ialah "apa yang sedang dibicarakan".
