Elements

Elements

The elements (属性(ぞくせい), Zokusei), also known as Wind, Forest, Fire, and Mountain (風林火山(ふうりんかざん), Fūrinkazan), are one of the most basic features of the Inazuma Eleven universe. They can be attributed to most characters and hissatsu techniques, affecting interactions against characters of other elements.

Wind

Wind icon (GX) Wind ((かぜ), Kaze; dub: Air[note 1]) is weak against Forest and is strong against Mountain. The Wind element includes other elements such as water, ice, and lightning.

Forest

Forest icon (GX) Forest ((はやし), Hayashi; dub: Wood[note 2]) is weak against Fire and is strong against Wind. The Forest element includes other elements such as music, energy, space, and darkness.

Fire

Fire icon (GX) Fire ((), Hi) is weak against Mountain and is strong against Forest. The Fire element usually only includes fire, although some techniques with the fire element can be mistaken as a Forest attribute.

Mountain

Mountain icon (GX) Mountain ((やま), Yama; dub: Earth[note 3]) is weak against Wind and is strong against Fire. The Mountain element includes other elements such as light.

Void

Void icon (GX) Void ((), Mu) is neither weak nor strong against any other element. This element includes darkness or hissatsu that combine multiple elements, such as Fuurinkazan Destroyer, which includes the four elements. There are no recruitable Void-attributed characters, only hissatsu, Keshin, and Souls.

Mechanics

The elements system works as a rock-paper-scissors system. Whenever a character interacts with another, they will get an increase, a decrease, or none based on their element. For example, if a Forest character enters a command battle with a Wind character, the Forest character will get a small boost in power, but won't get one if they face a Mountain character. This elemental advantage over another player only takes into account the player's element, not the element of the hissatsu technique. If a character uses a technique of the same element (for example, Gouenji, a Fire character, using Fire Tornado, a Fire techhnique), they will receive a small boost in power. Furthermore, in a command battle in which there are multiple supporting characters around the player, their support boost will be even greater if the players are from the same element.
