Summary
Jolyne has awakened from the illusion and currently sits in the visitation room in front of her father. Unable to move, she summons Stone Free and smashes the table. Jotaro eventually wakes up himself. Jolyne asks Jotaro to use Star Platinum to break down the door so they can escape, which he does. He then realizes that she said his Stand's name out loud and he recalls that he had never told her that. She knows more than she is supposed to, and deduces that he is still in an illusion. Jotaro then wakes up truly this time and finds his head covered in string. He asks his daughter if she was having the same dream, and she tells him that she can't move and he questions reality again. She tells him that if he can't move then it must be reality. He realizes that her Stand must have awakened him. He asks her to manifest the Stand, but she protests. He elaborates that he wants her to manifest it's humanoid form instead. She does so. He asks her to move it to the side a bit which she does so in confusion. Suddenly, he summons Star Platinum and punches Stone Free into the door's electronic lock, causing the door to open. In pain, Jolyne crawls out, angered at her father's tactics.
Jolyne then shows the bone to her father who doesn't understand what it means. But Jolyne is adamant that the boy who gave it to her exists. Just then, a camera spots them and the alarms go off. As they escape, a a Stand witnesses them, lamenting that they escaped it's trap. Jotaro and Jolyne follow a map of the Prison which Jotaro got from the Speedwagon Foundation. He also mentions that he has a submarine from them too, and begins to explain his plan to help her escape prison. He tells her that they need to get to the sea-ward side of the prison where the security is weakest. There, they will escape through a window to the beach where they will make their escape by sub. Jolyne is jumpy though, and her paranoia causes her to panic when she hears a broken fan. She falls. Jotaro offers his hand to her, but she denies it. He then states that he wasn't trying to help her, but ensure that the pendant is still safe. She thinks back on all the times where she really did need him and he wasn't there. She angrily throws the pendant at Jotaro.
Jotaro takes it, but isn't paying much attention to Jolyne as he too has heard some odd sounds, and knows that someone is following them. He witnesses two guards approach, but suddenly one of the guards shoots the other in the head. It is revealed that the second guard was Johngalli A. who is pursuing them. Jotaro prepares to defend his daughter from one of Johngalli's bullets when he notices Manhattan Transfer and realizes that the Stand exists. Jotaro stops time and witnesses another Stand behind them. Realizing that they're here for Jotaro and not Jolyne, he knocks Jolyne out of the way before time begins to move again. When it does, the second Stand steals two DISCs from Jotaro.
The second enemy Stand gloats about it's victory while Jolyne is getting back to her feet. She notices that Jotaro is losing balance as he falls against a wall. Johngalli A. begins to fire at them again, and Jolyne blocks them with Stone Free, but Jotaro doesn't. Jolyne then catches a glimpse of Whitesnake as it escapes with a disc that possesses Star Platinum's image on it. While Johngalli reloads, Jolyne breaks through a window and tells Jotaro to follow, but he slumps. He tells her to run because there are two stands working in unison. He further tells her that he loves her as he begins to bleed from his wounded chest. He assures her its not bad, but Jolyne already knows that something is seriously wrong, and that he has lost Star Platinum.
Coming around the corner, Johngalli A. attempts to shoot her, but Jolyne deflects it with her string. Johngalli attempts to aim at her again, only to find himself aiming at the wall. He realizes that his feet are tied up in string. Suddenly, Jolyne spins him around with string, causing him to lose his balance. She then tells him to give in, which he complies to. He raises his arms, but this is just a ploy to get Jolyne to lower her guard. He is instead hoping that Manhattan Transfer, which is hovering above him, might deflect his bullet to hit Jolyne, but instead she pummels him with Stone Free, showing a certain fire in her eyes as she does so. This comforts Jotaro as he finally loses consciousness. As she drags him out to the beach, she makes not of how powerful the Speedwagon Foundation must be if it has unmanned submarines, and hopes that they can heal her father. She sees the sub surface as the guards and their guard dogs continue the chase. To Jolyne's horror, Jotaro isn't even reacting to the water and it becomes even clearer that something beyond a bullet wound is killing him. His heart stops and she can't seem to restart it.
Jolyne reveals herself to two guards and surrenders to them as they go to find Jotaro. Meanwhile, she has sent a thread back to the prison so that she may contact the boy who is later revealed to be Emporio Alniño. He explains himself, how he was born within the prison, and how his mother had fallen ill with similar symptoms to those that Jotaro is displaying, and that the bone he gave Jolyne is all that is left of his mother. Due to this, he expresses his disbelief that Jolyne would manage to save Jotaro, but Jolyne is certain that someone in prison is behind this, and she plans to reveal them. Elsewhere, Johngalli A. who has been wounded is confronted by Whitesnake. Johngalli celebrates them having retrieved Star Platinum, but Whitesnake instead takes Johngalli's gun and shoots him with it. He places the gun beside Johngalli A.'s deceased body to frame him and then takes Jotaro's DISCs.
