Well, velitabulatio should be about wind surfing. As for surfing itself I have seen prolapsio per undas and the like, but not sure if I ever saw just "lapsus" by itself as intending to mean surfing. Traupvir has the utterly unweildly tabula` fluctivaga` per summas undas prolabi, Morgan has undis superlabi.
Maybe we should, instead, make this page explicitly about windsurfing, and come to a consensus on the name of lapsus, inviting Iacobus, original author of lapsus, into the conversation.-- Ioscius 21:48, 18 Septembris 2011 (UTC)Reply
NoychoH: the cited articles are addressing different subjects. ¶ The original article here was fundamentally false, saying the sport originated in (modern) Brazil, whereas it was invented in Pennsylvania, and of course surfing is an ancient Polynesian art. Also, the text used the bizarre word disportus (which has been discussed in Taberna before), not to mention several other curiosities: aequilbrio [sic] (perhaps for aequilibritas?), studentes ('practitioners'?), est consistens ('is consisting'?), &c. I've recast the text with a version of the beginning of en:Windsurfing. The text remains a stipula, and others may add more as they wish. ¶ As for lapsus, I don't know where that came from; perhaps prolapsio is better. Traupman's tabula 'fluctivaga' per summas undas prolabi is a definition, not a synonym; Morgan's undis superlabi is plausible. IacobusAmor 12:50, 19 Septembris 2011 (UTC)Reply

As the history shows, the false set of links was made on 21 Octobris 2008 by JAnDbot. As for athleta, -ae (m.): I know, I know, but (having no time to examine the picture carefully) I was thinking that a person named Gal would be a female; see Gail (usually female, short for Abigail) and the common noun gal. ;) IacobusAmor 23:59, 19 Septembris 2011 (UTC)Reply
