Canalis est unus veterrimorum orbis terrarum canalium hodie in usu, maior quam C&D? canalis, magnus, etiam una maximorum et difficillimorum fabricorum umquam coeptorum, 48 milia passuum longa. Anno 1900 a Civitatibus Foederatis Americae coepto, canalis die 15 Augusti anno 1914 confectus est. Anno 1962 Pons Americarum in fossam perfectus est.
