Insecticida
Insecticida[1] est chemicum ad insecta interficienda adhibitum.[2] Inter insecticidas sunt ovicidae et larvicidae contra insectorum ova et larva proprie adhibitae. Insecticidae in agricultura, medicina, et industria et ab emptoribus privatis adhibentur. Insecticidae maior causa incrementi in agriculturali saeculi vicensimi productivitatis dicuntur.[3] Paene omnes insecticidae oecosystemata magnopere mutare possunt; multae hominibus toxicae sunt; nonnullae sese secundum catenam ciborum accumulant.
Insecticidae describi possunt in duos greges maiores: insecticidas systematicas, quae diutine valent, et insecticidas contactiles, quae effectu diuturno carent. Praeterea, distingui possunt insecticidae naturales, sicut expressiones nicotini, pyrethri, et Azadirachtae indicae, a plantis contra insecta factae, insecticidae inorganicae, quae sunt metalla, aut insecticidae organicae, quae sunt composita chemica organica quae plerumque contactu operantur.
Modus actionis, ratio per quam pesticida pestem interficit vel inertem facit, est alius modus insecticidarum describendarum. Modus actionis magnopere iuvat intellectum num insecticida species non cognatas venenet, sicut pisces, aves, et mammalia.
