In addition to the Community Guidelines and the Terms of Use, the Lego Ninjago Wiki has its own set of rules, which are designed to keep everything in order. Please observe these rules.
Please note that the English translation of the German rules provided herein is for informational purposes only and is not intended to replace or supersede the official rules in any way. The translation is provided as a helpful resource for non-native speakers of German and should not be relied upon as the authoritative version of the rules. The official rules in German shall govern in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English translation and the German original. These rules apply exclusively to the German Ninjago Wiki and may differ from those of its international versions (accessible via the main page or interwiki links). For more information on language use, see section 12.
1. Please avoid spam
Spam refers to repeated writing of messages, writing meaningless comments and articles or meaningless contributions that have nothing to do with the topic. Of course, spam can be done “unintentionally”.
1.1 Stub spam
Stub spam will not be tolerated. Stub spam is the creation of pages that consists only of a first section, possibly an infobox and otherwise empty headlines. As soon as you create a page, you have to provide it within 24 hours with at least a first section, a completed infobox, if available an image and at least a little history as well as the appropriate categories and the English interwiki link (if available), otherwise the page will be deleted. All admins and moderators are encouraged to check newly created pages for these criteria and to inform the creator of the new regulation. It is not important to create as many pages as possible, but as many helpful pages as possible. So please create only two new pages a day, but with content, rather than ten new pages with stub template. A repeated violation of this rule will be punished with a warning. For the embargo periods, see point 9.
This rule expressly does not apply to pages on newly published things for which no information is yet available.
2. Be kind to each other
It is hopefully self-evident that you should be kind to each other. Everyone contributes to a good atmosphere in the community. So you should not offend or annoy anyone. If there are any disputes, feel free to contact our Admins.
2.1 Criticism
Criticism is allowed here in the wiki, but the criticism should be friendly and factual and not rush against any user.
3. Fandom Basics
Since we are here on fandom, we also abide by the rules of fandom. Here you can find the basics and rules of conduct.
4. Vandalism
Spam usually happens unintentionally, but vandalism is usually intentional. More about vandalism can be found here.
5. Articles
All articles should, of course, be true. If possible, the information should be verifiable and not fanfiction. There is also a wiki for Ninjago fanfictions, which you can find at our partners. Furthermore, you should be sure that the information also comes from Lego. There have been some misconceptions about the naming of articles where the source was not Lego but an unofficial Brick movie show. Another important topic would be information that has not been published in Germany. We ask you not to create articles about episodes and sets until the German names are known. A recommendable source regarding the names of the episodes would be fernsehenserien.de. Here you will find, among other things, the release dates of the new episodes, if they are already known. Last but not least, we would ask you to write the articles in good german. A few mistakes are not bad, but if you know that you are not really proficient in German grammar and formulate the sentences badly as I am doing right now, then you should rather leave editing.
6. Categories
Please do not create meaningless categories. If you have problems with categories, please contact the admins.
7. Images
Images are often used to illustrate the articles, which is good of course. But please make sure that the pictures fit. Meaningless and false images will be deleted. Please avoid fan art! Please use only official artwork or screenshots with good quality. Please also make sure that the pictures are not in the middle of a sentence, but preferably at the beginning of a paragraph. And you shouldn't overdo it with pictures. Also, names like "Screenshot03349210.png" are not very helpful. Therefore, a meaningful name is mandatory when uploading an image, because images should be found later if possible. In addition, the file information should be filled in when uploading. Among the many licensing options, you should find one that fits the picture. Otherwise, please select "I don't know exactly". In the best case, the author and source of the image belong in the file information.
Other rules about images:
- Images of show scenes must have at least a resolution of 720p, better of 1080p.
- Images must not have subtitles or black borders.
- Logos should not be visible, they are fine if they are very inconspicuous.
If these guidelines are repeatedly disregarded, image spam occurs (see 9. Bans).
Private images
Private images mean images that are only used on your user page. These do not have to have anything to do with the wiki topic. In general, of course, our rules apply, so no irregular content may be seen on the pictures (e.g. glorification of violence, forbidden symbols, etc.). Since the images are only used on your user page, the rules for minimum size not apply. However, certain rules apply to naming: No series of numbers, but a meaningful title at least for you (screenshot 12452331.png is no meaningful title) and your username in the file name or a clearly assignable abbreviation of your user name. If possible, please also provide a license for such images.
8. Comments
Please write only about the topic in the article comments and please avoid spam. Here you will be warned three times before you are banned.
9. Bans
Bans will be imposed for violations of the rules of this wiki or the Fandom Terms of Use and Guidelines (see first paragraph of the Rules). Not every violation immediately leads to a ban, especially if it is the first violation. The following can lead to blocking:
- Spam/stub spam
- Vandalism (for rules for vandalism see section Vandalism)
- Violations of the General Fandom Guidelines
- In discussions insults, threats (except the threat of ban for breaking the rules by a member of the wiki team) or hate speech.
- Insertion of incorrect information
- The insertion of unconstitutional and youth-endangering content leads to immediate, indefinite blocking'. These are, for example, prohibited signs such as swastikas or pornographic content. In addition, the user in question will be reported to Fandom Support.
9.1 Step-by-step plan for logged-in users
Of course, not every violation is malicious. Spam, for example, is often created unintentionally. Therefore, a "step-by-step plan" applies:
- Level 1: First or one-time violation: The user who is guilty of any of the above violations will be notified of the rule violation by a member of the wiki team by message. The rule violation is clearly named. This message should be noted by the notified user and this acknowledgement should be confirmed. For unregistered users, this option is omitted for obvious reasons.
- Level 2: If the message about the violation is not answered within 48 hours and a new violation of a regulation that can be punished with blocking follows, the person concerned receives a reminder to refrain from doing so, combined with the request to confirm the acknowledgement of the messages. For another recurrence, a ban is threatened.
- Level 3: If the knowledge is not confirmed within 72 hours and further violations follow, which may result in blocking, the affected user will initially be blocked for seven days. The lock expires automatically.
- Level 4: In the further case of recurrence, the following measures apply:
- Spam/Stub Spam: Block for one month
- Vandalism: Block for three months
- Fandom Policy Violation: Suspension for three months
- Violation of discussion rules: block for one month
- Level 5: If the user is guilty of a violation again after the expiry of the ban, the following applies:
- Renewed spam/stub spam: User will be banned for six months, in case of another violation the permanent block will follow.
- Renewed vandalism: User is permanently blocked.
- Fandom rules violated again: User is permanently banned
- Renewed violation of discussion rules: Six months block, in case of another violation the permanent block also follows here.
Editing your own news page should not be prevented unless the insults were created there, the possibility of contact in the wiki should be preserved.
9.2 Acting on unregistered users
For unregistered users, no action will be taken in the event of a one-time violation. A cover letter is no longer possible thanks to UCP. In the event of a second violation by the same user, a block will be issued for one day. In case of repetition after expiration, a block for three days. In case of repetition, the above-mentioned blocking periods apply.
10. Appealing bans
Bans are always made for good reasons. If a banned user feels that their ban was unjustified, they are allowed to contact the administrators and explain their reasoning. However, the decision whether the ban is actually unjustified still lies with the administrators.
11. Warnings
Please always take warnings seriously, depending on the case you may only have a warning. If you have a false warning, you should contact an admin.
12. Language
The language of the wiki is German. Articles in other languages will be deleted. Contributions in the discussions or on discussion pages, if necessary also in comments, are also tolerated in English.
13. Active members
Active members of the wiki are designated for each month. This happens at the end of the month for the respective following month. To appear in the wiki team list as active members, you must make at least 10 high-quality contributions per month, of which at least 5 high-quality edits must be and 2 participations in discussions/blog posts. Every month you have the chance to get into the list. As active members, you will be notified of every new discussion and blog post. The active members are listed in alphabetical order.
High-quality contributions
As high-quality contributions, we consider anything that is not just adding a category, an image or fixing a spelling mistake. When in doubt, the decision is for you rather than against you. In the discussions and blog posts you can contribute in many ways, a simple „agree“ is not enough as a contribution. Thank you for your interest and understanding!
