Spike the Presidential Dog, simply Spike the Dog, is a female cute dragon-style dog that appears in the Luna the Miracle Boy series. She is Luna's best friend and number one assistant. She is also the mascot friend for the Petrovburg Heroes.

Luna the Miracle Boy

At her first appearance of this story episode, Spike follows Luna through the portal to Canterlot Presidential University, in which she turns into the same appearance – the presidential dog. She gives Luna advice as they navigate the palace and finds a place for them to sleep in the library. As a presidential dog, she enjoys belly rubs and being scratched behind the ears. Spike also impressed by Tobias in her beauty. When Luna is about to inform his real identity, Spike is first mentioned by Celestia when she asks Luna if she has a twin sister with a dog who looks like herself. Later in the Ratnasari Boutique, Celestia interrupts her stating a very accurate hunch, but when Jason highly doubts that it is likely the case, Spike speaks out loud affirming Celestia's assumptions, shocking the Frihetens – except Luna and Vincent.

At Good Friday's special of the Miracle Contest proper, Princess Roman of Sunset Shimmer sends Snips and Snails to take Spike as a hostage. When Roman is about reaching Luna's moon sphere, Spike runs out and hit her head. Unfortunately, Roman breaks the moon sphere to the ground as a consequence of defending the moon sphere from her. Since that, Luna shows his great anger and joins the Petrovburg Heroes to form the Magic of Friendship to revenge against her. As Roman is defeated and Luna wakes up afterward, Spike cheers out loud, and Yusuf Honganji says, "Did that dog just talk? Whoa. Weird," to which Spike comments, "Seriously? The talking dog is a weird thing about all this?" Tobias says that she thinks Spike is adorable. Sergey the Twilight Sparkle regenerates the moon sphere in appreciating her for Luna.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Rainbow Rocks

When President Diana receives a letter from Luna about the lack of harmony at all of Petrovburg (especially Canterlot Presidential University) that being caused by Princess Aulia and the Dazzlings, Spike once again goes through a modified Crystal Mirror (as Diana orders her in delivering his useful aids) back to Canterlot Presidentials. She tells the Petrovburg Heroes that Luna now has a lunar helmet and has been crowned as "Prince of the Friendship". At one point during a slumber party in the Vernadsky Family House, Tobias and the Fluttershy Brothers (Vincent and Polina) take a selfie, which Spike photo-bombs, much to Tobias' irritation.

During the Bad Counter Spell song, Spike attempts to make Luna and the Petrovburg Heroes friends feel better about their poor performance, saying she is better than the last five times they played until Mr. Hideyoshi walks by and disagrees with her. After Cecil and her Illusions set a trap for Luna and his Friheten Rainboom personnel by persuasion from Aulia (representing the Dazzlings). Spike is the only one to not fall into the trap, she runs off and reports to Sergey for his help.

She does not appear again during the President's Musical Showcase final round as Sergey returns to rescue the Friheten Rainbooms with the help of DJ Una, since he is immune to the sirens' song since he is warned never takes off his headphones. During the end credits, Spike is seen as a dragon eating dog biscuits in the Sunset Shimmer Office – Roman's private room in Seborga High School. During this assassination, she only barks.

LMB Rainbow Rocks (animated short stories)

Spike appears in the Sirbistan Night Fever segment, where she proves her strength against Jason and Dennis on the high-striker. She is also seen in the group picture at the end of the song along with Colin, Jerry, Benedict, Pavel, Mr. Hideyoshi, Mrs. Maria, Miss Nate, Cecil, DJ Una, and Princess Moravia.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Friendship Games

Spike was initially founded by Roman as she caught her by the end of the Rainbow Rocks story episode, she later has been rescued by Luna. As she was depicted in the post-credits scene of Rainbow Rocks, this presidential dog is depicted as being non-sentient and only able to communicate like an actual dog. Both Vincent and Jason recognize her when she pops out of Luna's backpack. Spike shows much concern for Luna throughout the story, as she likes Canterlot Presidential University and expresses worry about Luna's ability of rescue.

When Roman's pendant absorbs Polina's magic, causing the Petrovburg-Equestria Union dimensional rifts to open, Spike follows a jackalope through one of the rifts, and she is accidentally exposed to some of Polina's magic. This gives her the ability to speak and communicate with humans, though she assures Luna it hasn't been affected in any adverse ways.

During the climax of the story, when Roman transforms into the evil Nightmare Moon, Spike calls out to her and gives a pleading look – momentarily bringing her back to her senses, so that Luna can return her to normal by his magic.

At the end of the story, Spike presents with Luna, which is sitting on Luna's leg as he talks to First Lady Camilla. She also presents when Martin is welcomed to Canterlot Presidentials, happily wagging her tail at the sight of a Seborga High former female student and France's former fan girl.

In the Celestial Spy segment, Celestia has a mask of Spike when she posing as a "dog burglar".

Luna the Miracle Boy: Legend of Everfree

Spike accompanies Luna, the Petrovburg Heroes, and other Canterlot Presidential civilians (including some of the Seborga High delegates) to Camp Everfree, expressing a desire to chase squirrels. Similar to Martin, she serves as a source of comfort and support for Luna as he deals with recurring nightmares and worries about Princess Aulia and Nightmare Moon. At one point in the episode, Spike has a dream about chasing squirrels, and she briefly realizes her dream during the song "Legend You Were Meant to Be".

Dance of the Equestria Flares

Spike appears with Luna and his friends as they make a music video for the "Chance to France" music video contest.

Miracle Movie Flares

Spike goes with her Friheten friends to the set of the Italy Hospodines movie. She is briefly mistaken for an animal actress in the Battle of Honfoglalás movie, cast as Honduras – a pet dog that belongs to the Hungarian royal couple: Prince István and Princess Megumi.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Summertime Short Stories

In the Vernadsky Twience segment, Spike appears as Luna builds an android mate for her. In the Pet Project segment, she appears with the rest of the Petrovburg Heroes' pets in their charity calendar photo shoot. In the Rarity Fails segment, she appears in Luna's recount watching Luna as he perform a chemistry experiment.

Better Together / Choose Your Own Ending

In A Fine Line segment, Spike appears waiting in line for the Tirek's Revenge video game with the Petrovburg Heroes. In the Overpowered segment, she appears in Luna's memories when he flies while riding a bicycle. In Teach Like Croatia segment, she plays with Vincent and later helps Jason study for the final semester exams. She appears with Polina lying on Luna's bed in the Vernadsky-Ermenistan Diplomacy segment and accompanies Luna when he takes care to Princess Finlandia's garden at the Vernadsky Greenhouse in the My Little Shop of Horrors segment. In the X Marks the Spot segment, Luna makes a sand sculpture of Spike at the beach.

In the Reboxing with Spike! segment, Spike is shown to have her own web series where she unboxes pet products. Her latest video is cut short when Luna finds her out that used his credit card to buy IDR2,000,000 worth of fancy pet products, that forces her to filming herself sheepishly re-boxing the products so that they can be returned for a refund. In the Street Magic with Cecil! segment, Spike is Cecil's assistant in her magic act and shows great nervousness over being part of the "sawed in half" trick. She also appears in a video thumbnail in the title cards of such segments: DIY with Lady Dennis, The Craft of Cookies, Skateboard Essentials, and Street of Bavariafest. She is seen at the end of the FOMO segment, attending Tobias' surprise birthday party.

In Jason's ending of the Stressed in Show segment, Spike appears participating in Jason's sports-based de-stressing program with Luna and Princess Martin. In Cecil's ending of Tobias' Investigates: The Case of the Bedazzled Boot, she steals a boot prop for the presidential play so that she could experience being a dancer, and Tobias offers her a part in the play. In all three endings of the Happily Ever After Party segment, Spike appears in Vincent's arms attending the presidential play after-party.

In Celestia's ending of the Wake-Up! segment, Spike, Celestia, and Dennis experience a sugar rush and an ensuing sugar crash after eating a high-sugar breakfast at the Sweyn Forkbeard's Music Festival. In Dennis' ending, she appears on a picnic table as the Petrovburg Heroes have a pancake breakfast. In the Imperial Leather segment, Spike uses a hairdryer to show off the fringes of Tobias' new festival outfit. She has a possible rule on Luna's ending in the Lost and Pound segment, in which she develops a mutual crush with Kyle Fegelein's lost dog – Supernova Zap, at the festival and proceeds to eat and play with it. Their time together abruptly ends when its owner suddenly comes to take it away. It leaves, but without giving Spike a good-bye lick. In The Road Less Scheduled segment, she accompanies Luna when he follows another diplomatic agenda after his own gets destroyed; with Sergey, Bellvania, and especially Princess Finlandia.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Forgotten Friendship

Spike briefly appears in her female puppy form in flashbacks of the slumber party at the Vernadsky Family House and on Vincent's phone photo-bombing the selfie taken by Tobias. She also appears with Luna and the Petrovburg Heroes on Norway Bay, in Dennis' memories of the Friendship Games, and playing with Celestia in front of the palace at the end of the episode. Throughout the story, she also appears in yearbook photos with the Petrovburg Heroes.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Rollercoaster of Friendship

Celestia wears a Spike mask during the Wilhelmshaven Paradise segment in a picture taken at a photo booth at the Wilhelmshaven National Park – Little Pariaman.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Spring Breakdown

Spike appears as she helping Sergey (in his pony form) hanging a painting in the map room at the Petrovburg Embassy in Equestria. She drops that painting as Sergey stops helping that painting lift her with his magic when he gets distracted by the sudden arrival of Luna, Martin, and Jason. She catches up with them along with Sergey at one point telling them a joke about a dragon wedding. At the end of the story, they succeed in hanging the painting, only for her to fall as Martin and Luna bring the stranded passengers of the KLM cruise ship through the embassy's entrance door.

Luna the Miracle Boy: Roman Backstage Pass

Spike appears at the beginning of the story just as the Petrovburg Heroes arrive at the Pariaman territory for attending the Sweyn Forkbeard's Music Festival in commemorating Roman Backstage Day: in every time loop outside the camper as Tobias gives a fedora hat for her, and once more on the way to the security checkpoint.

Lesson Zero

Spike is very helpful and supportive of Luna. Unlike the others, she is the only member of the main cast to take Luna's concerns about missing a report to Princess Finlandia seriously. She also gets worried as Luna becomes increasingly nervous about the due date for his friendship report.

Finland Eclipsed

Spike is depicted as a fun-loving dog, she nicknames Luna "the Crown Prince of Norway" as if refers to the costume of Sweyn Forkbeard. She also carves down candy enjoys during Nightmare Night's Day.

Canterlot Presidential Tales

In the Martin's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise mini story, Spike revels in the fact that her Equestrian counterpart is a talking female dragon. In the same chapter, Polina and Luna give her a "very special pooch primping".

General description

Verse 1

Assistant number one is Spike the Presidential Dog! She's fierce, and ferocious, and hungry for gems! Brave and true, you can count on her to stand up to anything, no matter how big. In her dreams – she's a beautiful dog in a princess style, but in her heart – she's a devoted friend and confidant. As a loyal companion to Luna, Spike knows that helping others is what true heroes do. Though Tobias is the gem of her eye, you can always depend on Spike to lend a helping hand to her.

Verse 2

Luna adopted Spike as his assistant when she was just an orphaned egg. She's been her faithful sidekick ever since. When she's not helping with the country's civilians, Spike might be found eating gems. She doesn't know much about dog culture, but she has an unexplained ability to send and receive messages between his friends and Princess Finlandia... when she burps!

Personality

Spike is occasionally sarcastic and sometimes laughs at others' misfortunes, even though she usually means well. She comes up with nicknames for the Petrovburg Heroes after their appearances change from such exposure.
