Dieser bezieht sich jedoch offenbar nicht auf die Statue in Rom – wie der Sandrart.net-Eintrag –, sondern auf den Dichter Annibale Caro. Der Link sollte vielleicht entfernt werden.

There are some examples where the Sandrart.net record is about a group of persons which is represented on Wikidata as a class rather than a group with subclass of (P279) and no instance of (P31) statement. The type constraint should probably allow instance of (P31) OR subclass of (P279) of abstract being (Q15619164). Template:Constraint:Type does not support this though, cf. here. --Marsupium (talk) 16:11, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
I propose to create a new Template:Complex constraint and remove the Template:Constraint:Type once the violation count there consists mainly of false positives. --Marsupium (talk) 17:36, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
Disambiguation records?
editShould we change the Template:Constraint:Type to allow the use of the property on instances of Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410) for those Sandrart.net records that are itself kind of disambiguation records or consider those records as "not applicable to Wikidata"? They can fit together, though checking and maintaining that is not trivial probably. The two cases currently on Wikidata are Demosthenes (Q401206)Sandrart.net person ID (P1422)4586 and Saint Catherine (Q1296521)Sandrart.net person ID (P1422)4317, under the entries that are "not applicable to Wikidata" on Mix'n'match there is at least Johannes, Heiliger that I put there and I recall that there were some similar cases with "Please note: This entry comprises several possible identifications of a person whose precise identity cannot be ascertained on this occasion." on the Sandrart.net record page. --Marsupium (talk) 16:31, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- Done for me. I think it is a good way just to add the few examples as exceptions as Laddo did. --Marsupium (talk) 17:36, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- Cf. also Wikidata:WikiProject Authority control#Match Persons not Disambiguation Pages. --Marsupium (talk) 13:01, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- IMHO disambiguation records are not useful, for the reasons given above "Match Persons not Disambiguation Pages". Each source will have its own disambiguations that help users navigating that source, so linking disambiguations across sources is not useful. Can someone argue otherwise? --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 09:54, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comment! Actually I later became somewhat dubious about the applicability of disambiguation records, so I can change my mind and agree that they should be banned. If that can be found to be common sense a future to-do for me or anyone else:
- A general advice on that would be great (also as a reference to inform others when eventually reverting their edits). WD:WikiProject Authority control#Match Persons not Disambiguation Pages treats a similar problem, perhaps that could be added there then.
- The constraints here should be adapted.
- The concerned records here should be removed from the disambiguation page items and marked as n/a in Mix'n'match.
- Thanks again, --Marsupium (talk) 20:07, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- On the other hand actually "Each source will have its own disambiguations that help users navigating that source" applies to different Wikimedia projects/Wikipedia language versions, too. ("The item should only contain links to Wikipedia disambiguation pages with the exact same spelling" (WD:DAB guideline) is not enforced and I doubt it will.) --Marsupium (talk) 11:09, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
