Cross-wiki long-term abuse
edit@EncycloPetey, the image you prefer is being forced into articles cross-wiki by a long-term abusive, globally locked sockpuppet in an effort to self-promote his works. There are 5 files in the category for this image, so if you detest the "yellow" one, then I am happy to entertain your alternative suggestions. But it is unacceptable to feed the troll who attempts to eclipse others' works across all WMF projects. Elizium23 (talk) 17:34, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure what you're talking about. The image here isn't yellowed. That's a different item. If an image is the best of possible options, are you saying we shouldn't use it because of its history? --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:04, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- It is the policy of WMF to deny access to long-term abusers, ban evaders, trolls who insult and argue, in bad faith, with good-faith editors, and self-promoting entrepreneurs who are not here to build encyclopedias or a repository of freely-licensed media. This user intends to force his work upon others and eclipse perfectly good, high-quality work by others, regardless of the relative merits. Perhaps you wish to argue in support of this troll, but you would be ignoring the labours of love by good-faith contributors who have produced good fruit and deserve a better recognition across WMF. This troll wishes to deny us justice and that community spirit. Elizium23 (talk) 19:14, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- You're using an argument based on people, not image quality. You also apparently did not read my last post: the yellowed image is on a different data item. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:18, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Correct; image quality is not the only aspect we need to consider while collaborating in a spirit of good faith and collegiality, do you not agree? Elizium23 (talk) 19:19, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Again, you're having a conversation here about something that's occurred on another data item. Please post comments in a relevant location rather than hiding them somewhere else.--EncycloPetey (talk) 19:28, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- I beg your pardon, @EncycloPetey, are you not the editor who performed this revert on this item? Item Euripides (Q48305)? Yes, I am referring to the image on this item, which refers to Euripides. The other item refers to the Venus de Milo, but these are both under the same topic. We have recently had a discussion on WD:AN in order to ban, block, and globally lock the sock. (Perhaps you can understand my edit summary better now.)
- You don't seem to know the background in this case of long-term abuse, but it's been 10 years now. We're tired. Please work with us and don't support the trollish actions. It's a slap in the face to good-faith contributors of high-quality work. Orlando has erased the work of hundreds of other contributors and thoroughly damaged dozens of Wikimedia projects. I hope you can understand my concern and solicitude for editors of good faith here.
- Saluti. Elizium23 (talk) 02:57, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- If you wish to erase the work of @Jastrow: from Wikidata, perhaps we can invite her into the conversation here, and see how she feels about having shit rubbed into her face by an abusive troll. Elizium23 (talk) 02:58, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- If you wish to have a cohesive discussion, please pick one place to have the discussion. Currently, you are pinging me from multiple pages on the same topic: the change of the image for the Venus de Milo. This is not the talk page for the data item on the Venus de Milo. Do you understand? I think you do not. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:03, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
