No substitution

edit

Hello,
I added {{Uw-vandalism1}} to User talk:170.185.233.106 and I get <{{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}}> {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}} as title. Why?
Thanks for your answer,

I'm wondering if it would be feasible to adjust this template (and the other relevant user-warning templates) to allow for passing item links in the form of {{Q}}–templates. This would allow for the actual label to appear in the warning, as opposed to a long Q-id. In other words, "one or more of your contributions to Q4115189" would become "to Wikidata Sandbox (Q4115189)".

I'm not totally sure how this would work implementation wise, as it would likely have to automatically link between article names, items, properties, and so on. (PS: Hopefully someone watches the page. I wasn't sure where else it would be relevant.) Perryprog (talk) 03:14, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • I think it would make sense but needs a way to render items, properties, lexemes and other pages. Likely it would need a template like {{U|}} (U for universal) that is able to handle all the different kinds of pages and refer to the right template. ChristianKl18:08, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello 1997kB  , Please could you tell me what tools are using the standardized Uw- templates on WD? Thanks in advance. —Eihel (talk) 10:25, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Eihel, As far as I'm aware SWViewer, User:Bene*'s warn js and User:Ahmad252's script use this template. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 11:48, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

welcome param

edit

Currently documented optional welcome=no no longer works (seems to be removed on 2013-03-03, not sure for how long it was working though). I think it's useful and should be supported, rather than fixing the doc.Mykhal (talk) 12:03, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
