Requesting help with WD:RFD

edit

I have noticed that you have been very active with nominating items for deletion. Could you do me a favor and look through these pages to see if i have missed anything. You might wanna wait nominating items until the RFD have a smaller backlog. --Trade (talk) 22:56, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

RfD

edit

Hey Quakewoody, edits such as Special:Diff/1150580946 on WD:RfD are not optimal as you remove the backlinks to the deleted items. This makes it much more complicated to understand why the deletion was done. The deleted items in those lists do not make the remaining cases any more difficult anyways. —MisterSynergy (talk) 11:42, 5 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Any interest in adminship? You file a lot of requests at RfD... let me know. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 11:15, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

RfD

edit

You do not need to annoy the RfD page with plenty of sections for sitelinks that are being discussed for deletion in local projects. If all of the sitelinks eventually disappear and the item does not fall under the sitelink notability criterion any longer, the items will automatically be listed on User:Pasleim/Items for deletion/Page deleted and we will take care of them. —MisterSynergy (talk) 23:38, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • So, if I am understanding correctly, you are saying - if this gets deleted on jaWP, the wikidata item will also be deleted. Therefore I do not have to nominate it on wikidata? And if that is correct, does that also apply to "speedy" deletions where there is no discussion? Quakewoody (talk) 23:44, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • If that jawiki article was deleted, the corresponding item Q98280871 would appear on the Page_deleted list and an admin, likely me, would have a look. In the current condition, Q98280871 would indeed be deleted without any further discussion. Page_deleted brings all items to admin attention that have lost all of their sitelinks and therefore need another notability assessment. If there never was a sitelink in the item, WD:RfD is indeed the proper place to bring an item to admin attention. In general, listings at RfD should either be directly actionable, or under (active) discussion by the community.
That said, if you go to the Wikipedia communities and nominate problematic content for local deletion, it is a pretty valuable job you are doing as we would otherwise not be able to delete here as well. It just does not need to be listed on RfD at the same time. —MisterSynergy (talk) 06:45, 25 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Merge

edit

Hi Quakewoody, I think you was right:

These items are for the same person. --Kolja21 (talk) 18:54, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Well, some of the data is definitely pointing to them being the same person. But I don't see anywhere that the one is the son of Burl Ives. Nor do I see his sister (Bonnie Paul) is the daughter of Burl Ives, or his niece (Skyler Shaye) as being the grandchild of Burl Ives. You would think that someone would mention this in their biography somewhere. The WP article says he is the daughter of Dorothy Koster Paul, and her biographies don't mention Burl Ives. And then, admittedly, I was focused more on looking for Burl Ives, but you would think that an opera grammy would appear more prevalent in adverts.
I merged the two based on some identifiers. But then unmerged because something just didn't feel right about it. Quakewoody (talk) 19:11, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've deleted Burl Ives already since it was a statement without a source.[1] --Kolja21 (talk) 19:58, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • IMDb has 17 people "exact named" Steven Paul. And some of the credits seem mixed. So, combine that with the fact that these two items are mixed and have multiple identifiers - this isn't going to be a quick fix. Quakewoody (talk) 20:11, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your behavior is unacceptable and given your continuous harassment, I've banned you from Wikidata. Please find another place. Amir (talk) 15:36, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

You'll have to be more specific, because that doesn't show me anything that qualifies as harassment. Quakewoody (talk) 18:39, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@BRPever Thank you for looking out on SH. I didn't even know I was blocked until I was alerted to your post on his talk page. And, yes, you are correct, I was never Globally Blocked. However, as you can see, it looks like my time here is done. Quakewoody (talk) 20:24, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
