The Cact-X is an unlockable kart part which appeared in Mario Kart 7 and returned in Mario Kart Tour.
Description
Its name is a pun on "cactus", explaining its cactus-like size on the kart. In its reappearance in Mario Kart Tour, the kart is equipped with the Sponge tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Mario Kart 7
The Cact-X offers a boost in handling and off-road, but lowers speed and acceleration. In terms of hidden stats, the Cact-X offers a boost in sea speed, but lowers air speed and mini-turbo.
A CPU-controlled Toad can be seen using the Cact-X kart body often.
The Cact-X is also used for the Normal Staff Ghost on N64 Kalimari Desert using Shy Guy, equipped with the Wood tires and the Swooper glider, and is used the Expert Staff Ghost for Wii Koopa Cape using Koopa Troopa, equipped with the Standard tires and the Flower Glider.
Mario Kart Tour
The Cact-X first debuted in the Wild West Tour, where it is classified as a High-End kart. When used, it increases the duration of Slipstream boosts and the points earned for getting them.
The game introduces several new variants of the kart, such as the Cact-Ice, which first appeared in the Snow Tour, the Cact-R which first appeared in the Toad vs. Toadette Tour, and the the Cact-B which first appeared in the 2022 Bowser Tour.
