Crabber

Crabbers (also simply referred to as Crabs) are crab-like enemies which first appear in Super Mario Galaxy and return in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They resemble regular crabs but have a big pincer and a small one.

Profile

Behavior

Crabbers always turn their face to Mario or Luigi to prevent him from reaching their rear end, which is their weak point and must be hit with a Star Spin to destroy them. Mario can use his Star Spin or stomping abilities to stun them and buy himself time to run around them. Upon defeat, Crabbers drop three Star Bits. Crabbers have a turquoise variant that is harder to defeat as they retreat much quicker when Mario or Luigi gets near, but defeating a turquoise Crabber causes it to leave behind a 1-Up Mushroom. If a Crabber manages to hit the plumbers, it will give a snicker.
