Piranha Heads are a type of enemy in Super Mario Sunshine.

Profile

They are miniature versions of Petey Piranha that are formed from large blotches of Goop, more commonly around Polluted Piranha Plants.

In Super Mario Sunshine

When Mario approaches their section or sprays at it with F.L.U.D.D, the Piranha Head will emerge and attempt to bite Mario. They are only a minor annoyance as a Piranha Head can easily be defeated with enough sprays from F.L.U.D.D. Piranha Heads are rather common appearing in Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor, Pianta Village, and various areas of Delfino Plaza more specifically amidst Goop masses.

Trivia

The Piranha Heads slightly resemble Piranha Bean from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions.
