A Boo who stole a Hammer Command Block in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.Hammers are prohibited!
Prohibited Command is a status effect that can be inflicted on the Mario Bros. in the Mario & Luigi games. It involves one or more actions being disabled and is similar to No Skills from the Paper Mario series.
History
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
There are two instances of this status effect occurring.
- The Boos in Bowser's Castle can mug the Mario Bros. for Command Blocks if their charge attack hits. Defeating the Boo responsible restores the Command Blocks that it stole. If the Boos steal every Command Block from both Bros., the Mario Bros. automatically lose unless their counterattacks can help win the fight.
- When Popple uses his stealing attack during his boss battles in the Winkle region of Chucklehuck Woods and in the underground ruins in western Teehee Valley, Hammers can be stolen. Popple telegraphs this by turning his back to the Bros. before making his move.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
During the battle versus Fawful, the Vacuum Helmet Headgear that Fawful wears on his head may suck up the Items or Special Attack command blocks, prohibiting them until either destroyed or a few turns pass.
Bowser can also counterattack Special Attacks by devouring them during his optional battle in the Gauntlet (this game's version of the Battle Ring).
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
When battling Thunder Sass, Mario needs to rely on counters to defeat him. To make up for this, though, Thunder Sass has his health and defense stats reduced.
Bowser Jr. steals Bros. Attacks by tickling the move's user with his Paintbrush.
The Tiny status effect can also prohibit the use of Special Attacks.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
The wardens of the Twinsy Tropics dungeon mug the Bros. for Command Blocks in an event in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Upon their defeat, the wardens (reluctantly) return the Command Blocks.
In his rage state, Kamek may disable the Mario Bros.'s Command Blocks.
