The Special World is a secret world in Super Mario World and its remake Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2.

Description

It can only be accessed through the Star Road #6, after completing the Star World and taking the secret exit from Star World 5. The Special World is known for containing the most difficult levels in the game, and each level has its own unique gimmick.

Once the last level of this world is completed, the Star Road #7 will appears; if the player takes it, they will be taken back to Yoshi's Island, but the aspect of the world such as colors and enemies will be permanently altered.

Trivia

The Special World is the only world in Super Mario World to not have levels with numbers beside their name.
The green, blue, yellow, and red sprite found at the top of the screen represents the logo for the Super Famicom.
If Mario or Luigi stays on the map screen for 2 minutes, The Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme starts to play.
