Due to unknown origins, Tony Stark died from a sort of brain aneurism, though many believed it to be from drinking a poisoned bottle planted by Obadiah Stane.

This led to the Armor Wars lasting longer, and to Stane International, led by Ezekiel Stane, to rule the world.

Notes

The unknown origin of this Iron Man's death was due to the broken timestream caused by Wolverine, possibly killing him by some form of brain aneurysm.
