History

Aquaticans were an underwater race from Aquatica. They planned to invade the surface world and conquer humanity. To study humans before engaging in their attack, they captured the S.S. Luxuria but this brought them into contact with Doctor Druid. Here he found their underwater kingdom and the missing ship and hypnotized the entire city into believing that there was no human population on the surface in order to protect humanity and rescue the ship.

Notes

• When this story was originally published in Amazing Adventures #2 (July, 1961) the underwater city was called "The Lost World of Atlantis" and its inhabitants "Atlanteans". But when it was reprinted almost sixteen years later in Weird Wonder Tales #22 (May, 1977) several changes were made; a new Splash page was drawn by John Byrne in Jack Kirby's style, Dr. Droom was edited & recolored to change him into Dr. Druid, it was partially relettered changing "The Lost World of Atlantis" to "Aquatica" and "Atlanteans" to "Aquaticans".
