- In the montage of the two pairs of adventurers' feats, the partial cover of a book is shown with only the end of its two-line title legible as "[...]ermis", "[...]eriis." This book is surely De Vermis Mysteriis, a Cthulhu Mythos tome of evil knowledge, created by Robert Bloch in "The Shambler from the Stars" (September, 1935; adapted in Journey Into Mystery (Vol. 2) #3; February, 1973), in which it is mentioned to contain references to "serpent-bearded" Byatis and the serpent deity, Yig.
